Inasmuch as from the first creation of the world, the invisible things of Him, even his eternal power and Godhead, are, if attended to, clearly seen in his works:

knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation; for prophecy was not delivered of old at the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the holy Spirit.

and is profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

and though no one hath ever seen God, or can see Him: yet the only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, hath made Him known.

God, who at sundry times, and various ways, spake of old unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds. Who being the refulgence of his glory and the imprest image of his person, and sustaining all things by his powerful word, having by Himself performed the purging away of our sins, sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, being full of grace and truth: and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of the whole creation:

for all the fulness of the deity dwelleth personally in Him.

But when they heard his answer, being convicted by their own conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the elder, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst of the people.

for when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature the duties of the law, these though they have not the law, are a law to themselves, and shew the work of the law written on their hearts, their conscience witnessing together with it, and their own thoughts either accusing, or excusing them,)

and all things therein, who in generations past suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways: though He left not Himself without witness; for He did us good, in giving us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."

and hath made of one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having determined the seasons before-appointed them, and the bounds of their habitation; that they might seek the Lord, if possibly they might trace Him, and find Him: though indeed He is not far from every one of us.

and when he was thinking on these things, behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph thou Son of David, scruple not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right hand of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was startled and struck with fear: but the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias; for thy prayer is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John:

an angel of the Lord stood over them, and the glory of the Lord shone round them, and they were greatly terrified: and the angel said to them, Be not affrighted; for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, that this day is born, in the city of David, your Saviour Christ the Lord.

He evidently saw in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius!

Jesus then told her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, shall live again.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and prodigies, and signs, which God wrought by Him in the midst of you,

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and dost thou not know me? Philip, he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how then dost thou say, Shew us the Father? Dost thou not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? as to the words which I speak to you, I speak them not of my self; and the Father who abideth in me, doth the works.

I no longer stile you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth: but I have called you friends; for whatsoever I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

for the instructions, which Thou gavest me, I have given to them: and they have received them, and have known of a truth that I came from Thee, and have believed that thou hast sent me.

And when He was apart from the multitude, those that were about Him with the twelve asked Him concerning the parable. And he said unto them, To you it is granted to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but unto them that are without all things are delivered in parables: that in seeing they may see and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not understand, least they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.

And the disciples came to Him and said, Why dost thou speak to them in parables? And He answered them, saying, Because it is granted unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not granted: for whosoever really hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundantly; but whosoever thus hath not, even that which he hath, shall be taken away from him:read more.
for this reason I speak to them in parables; because though they see, they will not see; and though they hear, they will not hear, nor understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, Ye shall hear by the hearing of the ear, and not understand; and in seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: for the heart of this people is grown stupid, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; least they should see at all with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

And his disciples asked Him, what might be the meaning of this parable. And He said, To you it is granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but I speak to others in parables, that in seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

All that the Father hath are mine: therefore I said, that He shall take of mine and shew it unto you.

But the comforter, that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said unto you.

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,) He shall testify of me.

And when He comes, He will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:

So that the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

And he, that keepeth his commandments, abideth in Him, and He in him: and hereby we know that He abideth in us, even by the Spirit which He hath given us.

and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day; and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things: and I will send upon you the promise of my Father;

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand: and in confirmation of your doctrine heal the sick,

Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost, and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.

And they went forth, and preached that men should repent.

And He said unto them, Go to all the world and preach the gospel to every one:

But ye shall receive power from the holy Spirit coming upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

For I have not failed to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

delivering thee from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I now send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God; that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me. Wherefore, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision:read more.
but declared first to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, and through all the country of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, and turn unto God, performing works suitable to repentance.

But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach unless they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good tidings of peace, who bring the good tidings of good things?

For the word of the Lord sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia; but also in every place your faith towards God is spread abroad, so that we have no need to say any thing of it.

they argued one with another, saying, It is because we have no bread. And Jesus knowing it saith unto them, What are ye reasoning about? because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet discern nor understand? have ye your heart still hardened? Have ye eyes, and do not see? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?read more.
When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did ye take up? They answer, Twelve. And when I divided the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? and they said, Seven. And He said unto them, How is it then that ye do not understand?

Then saith He unto them, Do ye not understand this parable? how then will ye understand all my other parables.

And Jesus said, I am come into this world to execute judgement; that they who see not, may see; and that they who say they see, may be made blind.

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and yet the world knew Him not:

But they did not know that He spake unto them of the Father.

This parable Jesus spake unto them; but they did not understand what He said to them.

The disciples therefore looked on one another, doubting of whom He spake.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and dost thou not know me? Philip, he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how then dost thou say, Shew us the Father?

they said therefore, What is this little while that He speaks of? we do not understand what He means.

in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart:

Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such.

so that they are inexcusable; because having thus known God they glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful; but were infatuated by their own reasonings, and their heart being void of understanding was darkened. Pretending to be wise they Became fools: and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for an image like to corruptible man, and birds, and beasts, and reptiles.read more.
Wherefore God also gave them up to impurity, in the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves; who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature instead of the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Take heed, my brethren, least there be in any of you a wicked heart of unbelief in departing from the living God: but exhort one another daily, while it is called to-day; that none of you may be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin:
