¹ Then said God unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, - and make there an altar, to the GOD who appeared unto thee, when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. ² And Jacob said unto his house, and unto all who were with him, - Put away the gods of the alien which are in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your garments; ³ And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, - that I may make there an altar to the GOD who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.
