8 "Bring out the people who are blind, yet still have eyes, who are deaf, yet still have ears!

9 Let all the nations come together, and let the peoples be present: who among them is able to make this clear, and give us word of earlier things? let their witnesses come forward, so that they may be seen to be true, and that they may give ear, and say, It is true.

9 All the nations have (AA)gathered togetherSo that the peoples may be assembled.Who among them can (AB)declare thisAnd proclaim to us the former things?Let them present (AC)their witnesses (AD)that they may be justified,Or let them hear and say, “It is true.”

9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

9 All the nations are gathered together, and the peoples are assembled.(P)Who among them can declare this,(Q)and tell us the former things?Let them present their witnessesto vindicate themselves,so that people may hear and say, “It is true.”

9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the nations be assembled. "Who is there among them who can declare this, or announce the former things? Let them produce their witnesses to prove them right, and let them proclaim so people will say, "It's true.'

10 You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have taken for myself: so that you may see and have faith in me, and that it may be clear to you that I am he; before me there was no God formed, and there will not be after me.

10 “You are (AE)My witnesses,” declares the Lord,“And (AF)My servant whom I have chosen,So that you may know and believe MeAnd understand that (AG)I am He.(AH)Before Me there was no God formed,And there will be none after Me.

10 “You are My witnesses”(R)this is the Lord’s declaration—“and My servant whom I have chosen,(S)so that you may know and believe Meand understand that I am He.(T)No god was formed before Me,and there will be none after Me.(U)

11 I, even I, am the Lord; and there is no saviour but me.

11 “I, even I, am the Lord,And there is no (AI)savior (AJ)besides Me.

11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

11 I, I am Yahweh,and there is no other Savior but Me.(V)

11 I, yes I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

12 I gave the word, and made it clear, and there was no strange god among you: for this reason you are my witnesses, says the Lord.

12 “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed,And there was no (AK)strange god among you;So you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,“And I am God.

12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

12 I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed—and not some foreign god(a) among you.So you are My witnesses”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and(b) I am God.(W)

16 Thus says the Lord,Who (AU)makes a way through the seaAnd a path through the mighty waters,

16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

16 This is what the Lord says—who makes a way in the sea,and a path through surging waters,(AC)

16 This is what the LORD says who makes a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,

17 Who sends out the war-carriages and the horses, the army with all its force; they have come down, they will not get up again; like a feebly burning light they are put out.

17 Who brings forth the (AV)chariot and the horse,The army and the mighty man(They will lie down together and not rise again; They have been (AW)quenched and extinguished like a wick):

17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

17 who brings out the chariot and horse,(AD)the army and the mighty one together(they lie down, they do not rise again;they are extinguished, quenched like a wick(AE))—

17 who brings out chariots and horsemen, and armies and warriors at the same time. They lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a candle:

18 Give no thought to the things which are past; let the early times go out of your minds.

18 (AX)Do not call to mind the former things,Or ponder things of the past.

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

18 “Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old.(AF)

18 "Don't remember the former things; don't dwell on things past.

19 See, I am doing a new thing; now it is starting; will you not take note of it? I will even make a way in the waste land, and rivers in the dry country.

19 “Behold, I will do something (AY)new,Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it?I will even (AZ)make a roadway in the wilderness,Rivers in the desert.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

19 Look, I am about to do something new;(AG)even now it is coming. Do you not see it?Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,(AH)rivers(e) in the desert.

19 Watch! I'm about to carry out something new! And now it's springing up don't you recognize it? I'm making a way in the wilderness and paths in the desert.

20 The beasts of the field will give me honour, the jackals and the ostriches: because I send out waters in the waste land, and rivers in the dry country, to give drink to the people whom I have taken for myself:

20 “The beasts of the field will glorify Me,The (BA)jackals and the ostriches,Because I have (BB)given waters in the wildernessAnd rivers in the desert,To give drink to My chosen people.

20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

20 The animals of the field will honor Me,jackals and ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert,(AI)to give drink to My chosen people.

21 Even the people whom I made to be the witnesses of my praise.

21 “The people whom (BC)I formed for Myself(BD)Will declare My praise.

21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

21 The people I formed for Myselfwill declare My praise.(AJ)

21 the people whom I formed for myself and so that they may speak my praise."

Israel's Sin

22 But you have made no prayer to me, O Jacob: and you have given no thought to me, O Israel.

22 “Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob; But you have become (BE)weary of Me, O Israel.

22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

22 “But Jacob, you have not called on Me,because, Israel, you have become weary of Me.(AK)

22 "And yet you didn't call upon me, Jacob; indeed, you are tired of me, Israel!

23 You have not made me burned offerings of sheep, or given me honour with your offerings of beasts; I did not make you servants to give me an offering, and I did not make you tired with requests for perfumes.

23 “You have (BF)not brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,Nor have you (BG)honored Me with your sacrifices.I have not (BH)burdened you with (e)offerings,Nor wearied you with (BI)incense.

23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

23 You have not brought Me your sheep for burnt offeringsor honored Me with your sacrifices.(AL)I have not burdened you with offeringsor wearied you with incense.(f)

23 You haven't brought me your sheep for a burnt offering, nor have you honored me with your sacrifices, nor have you made meal offerings for me yet I have not tired you about incense!

24 You have not got me sweet-smelling plants with your money, or given me pleasure with the fat of your offerings: but you have made me a servant to your sins, and you have made me tired with your evil doings.

24 “You have bought Me not (f)(BJ)sweet cane with money,Nor have you (g)filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices;Rather you have burdened Me with your sins,You have (BK)wearied Me with your iniquities.

24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

24 You have not bought Me aromatic cane with silver,or satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins;you have wearied Me(AM) with your iniquities.(AN)

24 You haven't bought me sweet cane with money, nor have you satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. You have only burdened me with your sins and made me tired with your iniquities.

25 I, even I, am he who takes away your sins; and I will no longer keep your evil doings in mind.

25 “I, even I, am the one who (BL)wipes out your transgressions (BM)for My own sake,And I will (BN)not remember your sins.

25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

25 “It is I who sweep away your transgressions(AO)for My own sake(AP)and remember your sins no more.(AQ)

25 "I, I am the one who blots out your transgression for my own sake, and I'll remember your sins no more.

26 Put me in mind of this; let us take up the cause between us: put forward your cause, so that you may be seen to be in the right.

26 (h)Put Me in remembrance, (BO)let us argue our case together;State your cause, (BP)that you may be proved right.

26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

26 Take Me to court; let us argue our case together.(AR)State your case, so that you may be vindicated.

26 Recount the brief! Let's argue the matter together; Present your case, so that you may be proved right.

27 Your first father was a sinner, and your guides have gone against my word.

27 “Your (BQ)first (i)forefather sinned,And your (j)(BR)spokesmen have (k)transgressed against Me.

27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

27 Your first father sinned,(AS)and your mediators have rebelled against Me.(AT)

27 Your first ancestor sinned, and your mediators rebelled against me.

28 Your chiefs have made my holy place unclean, so I have made Jacob a curse, and Israel a thing of shame.

28 “So I will (l)pollute the (m)princes of the sanctuary,And I will consign Jacob to the (BS)ban and Israel to (BT)revilement.

28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.

28 So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary, and set Jacob apart for destruction(AU)and Israel for abuse.

28 So I'll disgrace the leaders of the Temple, and I'll consign Jacob to total destruction and Israel to contempt.
