You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that swarms, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, so that you should be defiled by them. For I am Jehovah your God, and you shall sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy, for I am holy. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

But I have said to you, You shall inherit their land, and I, I am giving it to you to possess it, a land that flows with milk and honey. I am Jehovah your God, who has separated you from the nations. And you shall make a difference between clean animals and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean. And you shall not defile your souls by beast, or by fowl, or by any kind of living thing that creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. read more. And you shall be holy to Me. For I, Jehovah, am holy, and have severed you from the nations, so that you should be Mine.

For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah has chosen you to be a peculiar people to Himself, above all the nations that are on the earth. You shall not eat any hateful thing.

You shall not eat anything that dies of itself. You shall give it to the stranger that is in your gates, so that he may eat it. Or you may sell it to a stranger. For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

On the next day, as these went on the road, and drawing near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. And he became very hungry and desired to eat. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.

And Noah built an altar to Jehovah. And he took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herb.

Therefore the sons of Israel do not eat of the sinew of the thigh, which is on the hip-socket, until this day, because He touched Jacob's hip-socket, the sinew of the thigh.

But the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings that pertain to Jehovah, having his uncleanness on him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When any man has an issue from his flesh; he is unclean because of his issue. And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue. And everything on which he sits shall be unclean. And whoever touches his bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. And he that carries any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. And whomever he who issues touches, and has not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. And the earthen vessel that he who issues touches shall be broken. And every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water. And when he who issues is cleansed of his issue, then he shall number seven days to himself for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean. And on the eighth day he shall take two turtle-doves to himself, or two young pigeons, and come before Jehovah to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them to the priest. And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for him before Jehovah for his issue. And if any man's semen goes from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water and be unclean until the evening. And every garment and every skin on which the semen shall be, it shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the evening. And the woman with whom a man shall lie with emission of semen shall both bathe in water and be unclean until the evening. And if a woman has an issue, and her issue in her flesh is blood, she shall be in her impurity seven days. And whoever touches her shall be unclean until the evening. And everything that she lies on in her impurity shall be unclean. Everything also that she sits on shall be unclean. And whoever touches her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. And whoever touches anything that she sat on, shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. And if it is on the bed or on anything on which she sits, when he touches it, he shall be unclean until the evening. And if any man lies with her at all, and her impurity is on him, he shall be unclean seven days. And every bed on which he lies shall be unclean. And if a woman has an issue of her blood many days outside of the time of her impurity, or if she issues it beyond the time of her impurity, all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her impurity. She is unclean. Every bed on which she lies all the days of her issue shall be to her as the bed of her impurity. And whatever she sits on shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity. And whoever touches those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. But if she is cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take two turtle-doves to her, or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. And the priest shall make atonement for her before Jehovah for the issue of her uncleanness.

And any soul that eats a dead body, or a torn thing, whether a native or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. Then he shall be clean.

You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with different kinds. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed. And you shall not allow clothing mixed of linen and wool to come on you.

You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks on you. I am Jehovah.

Say to them, Any man of all your seed among your generations who draws near to the holy things, which the sons of Israel set apart to Jehovah, if he has his uncleanness on him, that soul shall be cut off from My presence. I am Jehovah.

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, When a man or a woman shall vow a vow, a vow of a Nazarite, to be separated to Jehovah, read more. he shall separate from wine and strong drink and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink; neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes or dried. All the days of his Nazariteship he shall eat nothing that is made of the grapevine, from grape seeds even to a stem. All the days of his vow to separate, no razor shall come upon his head. Until all the days are fulfilled in which he separates to Jehovah, he shall be holy. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. All the days that he separates to Jehovah, he shall not come near any dead body. He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, or for his brother, or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to his God is upon his head. All the days of his separation he is holy to Jehovah. And if any man dies very suddenly beside him, and he has defiled the head of his consecration, then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day he shall shave it. And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtle-doves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, because he sinned by the dead, and shall make his head holy that same day. And he shall set apart to Jehovah the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a guilt offering. But the former days shall be lost, because his separation was defiled. And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled. He shall be brought to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And he shall offer his offering to Jehovah: one male lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, and a basket of unleavened cakes of fine flour, cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and their food offerings and their drink offerings. And the priest shall bring them before Jehovah and shall offer his sin offering and his burnt offering. And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings to Jehovah, with the basket of unleavened bread. The priest shall offer also his food offering and his drink offering. And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation and put it in the fire under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them on the hands of the Nazarite, after his separation has been shaved. And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. This is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder. And afterward the Nazarite may drink wine. This is the law of the Nazarite who has vowed his offering to Jehovah for his separation, besides that which he is able to get. According to the vow which he vowed, so he must do according to the law of his separation.

And there were certain men who were defiled by the dead body of a man, so that they could not prepare the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day. And those men said to him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back that we may not offer an offering of Jehovah in its appointed time among the sons of Israel? read more. And Moses said to them, You wait, and I will hear what Jehovah will command about you. And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your generations shall be unclean because of a dead body, or in a journey afar off, he shall still keep the Passover to Jehovah. They shall keep it the fourteenth day of the second month at evening, eating it with unleavened cakes and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break any bone of it. According to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it.

Let her not be like one dead, of whom the flesh is half gone when he comes out of his mother's womb.

He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

And stay outside the camp seven days. Whosoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any dead one, purify yourselves and your captives on the third day and on the seventh day. And purify all clothing, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood. read more. And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to battle, This is the ordinance of the law which Jehovah commanded Moses. Only the gold and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead, everything that can stand the fire, you shall make go through the fire, and it shall be clean. Only it shall be purified with the water of separation. And all that cannot stand the fire you shall make go through the water. And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean, and afterwards you shall come into the camp.

Only be sure that you do not eat the blood. For the blood is the life. And you may not eat the life with the flesh.

You are the sons of Jehovah your God. You shall not cut yourselves nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

These are the animals which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

If one is found dead in the land which Jehovah your God gives you to possess it, lying in the field, and it is not known who has killed him,

There shall not be the thing of a man on a woman, neither shall a man put a woman's garment on. For all that do so are abominable to Jehovah your God.

When you build a new house, then you shall make a guard rail for your roof, so that you do not bring blood on your house, if one falls from it. You shall not sow your vineyard with different kinds of seeds, lest the fruit of your seed which you have sown and the fruit of your vineyard be defiled. read more. You shall not plow with an ox and an ass together. You shall not wear a garment of different kinds, of wool and linen together.

He who is wounded, crushed, or who has his male member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of Jehovah. A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of Jehovah. Even to his tenth generation he shall not enter into the congregation of Jehovah. read more. An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of Jehovah. Even to their tenth generation they shall not enter into the congregation of Jehovah forever, because they did not meet you with bread and with water in the way when you came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. But Jehovah your God would not listen to Balaam, but Jehovah your God turned the curse to a blessing to you, because Jehovah your God loved you. You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.

You shall also have a place outside the camp where you shall go forth. And you shall have a paddle on your weapon. And it shall be, when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it, and shall turn back and cover that which comes from you. read more. For Jehovah your God walks in the middle of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you. Therefore your camp shall be holy, so that He may see no unclean thing in you and turn away from you.

When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any duty. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.

And you shall build an altar there to Jehovah your God, an altar of stones. You shall not lift up any iron tool on them. You shall build the altar of Jehovah your God of uncut stones, and you shall offer burnt offerings on it to Jehovah your God.

as Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded the sons of Israel, as it is written in the book of the Law of Moses, an altar of whole stones over which no man has lifted any iron. And they offered on it burnt offerings to Jehovah, and sacrificed peace offerings.

And they camped against them and destroyed the increase of the earth, until you come to Gaza. And they left no food for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

And He struck the men of Beth-shemesh because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah. He even struck seventy among the people, including fifty chief men. And the people lamented because Jehovah had struck the people with a great slaughter.

And they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against Jehovah in that they eat with the blood. And he said, You have transgressed. Roll a great stone to me today.

And David answered the priest and said to him, Truly women have been kept from us for about three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and in a way the holy bread is common. Also surely today it is sanctified in the vessels.

And Uriah said to David, The ark and Israel and Judah abide in tents. And my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are camped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.

And Naaman said, Please shall there not then be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth? For your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Jehovah.

And there was a great famine in Samaria. And, behold, they besieged it until an ass's head was sold for eighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five silver pieces.

And four men, lepers, were at the gate entrance. And they said to one another, Why do we sit here until we die?

And he took away the horses which the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of Jehovah, by the room of Nathan-melech the eunuch, which was in the suburbs. And he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

Awake! Awake! Put on your strength, Zion; put on your beautiful robes, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For never again shall come to you uncircumcised and unclean ones.

He who kills an ox is is as if he killed a man; he who sacrifices a lamb is as if he broke a dog's neck; he who offers an offering is as if he offered swine's blood; he who burns incense is as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.

Then I said, Ah Lord Jehovah! Behold, my soul has not been defiled. For from my youth up, even till now, I have not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither did there come any unclean flesh into my mouth.

Her priests have broken My Law and have defiled My holy things. They have put no difference between the holy and the common, and have not taught between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from My sabbaths, and I am defiled among them.

So say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood; and shall you possess the land?

that you have brought strangers, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary, to profane it, even My house, when you offer My bread, the fat and the blood. And they have broken My covenant because of all your abominations.

So says the Lord Jehovah: No son of an alien, uncircumcised of heart and uncircumcised of flesh, shall enter into My sanctuary, or any son of an alien among the sons of Israel.

And it shall be, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with bleached linen clothing. And no wool shall come on them while they serve in the gates of the inner court, and inside. Turbans of bleached linen shall be on their heads, and shall have bleached linen undergarments on their loins. They shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat. read more. And when they go out into the outer court, even into the outer court of the people, they shall put off their clothes in which they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers. And they shall put on other clothes, so that they shall not sanctify the people with their own clothes.

They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria. They shall not pour wine to Jehovah, nor shall they be pleasing to Him. Their sacrifices shall be like the bread of sorrows to them; all who eat of them shall be defiled. For their bread is for their soul, it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.

Then Haggai said, If one unclean of body touches these, is it unclean? And the priests answered and said, It is unclean.

And He called the crowd and said to them, Hear and understand.

and He said to him, See that you say nothing to anyone. But go and show yourself to the priest, and offer those things which Moses commanded for your cleansing, for a testimony to them.

And the Pharisees and some of the scribes came together to Him, having come from Jerusalem. And when they saw some of His disciples eating loaves with unclean hands, that is with unwashed hands, they found fault. read more. For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they immerse their hands with the fist, holding the tradition of the elders. And coming from the market, they do not eat without immersing, and there are many other things which they have received to hold, the dippings of cups and pots, and of copper vessels, and of tables. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat loaves with unwashed hands?

and to offer a sacrifice according to that said in the Law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he was amazed that He had not first washed before dinner.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.

that you abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which, if you keep yourselves, you shall do well. Be prospered.

Then taking the men on the next day, being purified with them, Paul went into the temple, declaring the fulfillment of the days of the purification, until an offering should be offered for each of them.

I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing by itself is common; except to him who esteems anything to be common, it is common.

Do not undo the work of God for food. Truly, all things indeed are clean, but it is bad to the man eating because of a stumbling-block.

Therefore let no one judge you in food or in drink, or in respect of a feast, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths.

If then you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you subject to its ordinances: touch not, taste not, handle not; read more. which things are all for corruption in the using, according to the commands and doctrines of men?

To the pure all things are pure. But to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
