Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not Jehovah.

The secret of Jehovah is with them that fear him, that he may make known his covenant to them.

and the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.

And Jesus asked him saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: for many demons had entered into him.

for he whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives not the Spirit by measure.

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself save whatever he sees the Father doing: for whatever things he does, these things also the Son does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son and shews him all things which he himself does; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may wonder.

If any one desire to practise his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or that I speak from myself.

Jesus therefore said to them, When ye shall have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things.

and said, Where have ye put him? They say to him, Lord, come and see.

and there they were announcing the glad tidings.

Because what is known of God is manifest among them, for God has manifested it to them, for from the world's creation the invisible things of him are perceived, being apprehended by the mind through the things that are made, both his eternal power and divinity, so as to render them inexcusable.

What shall we say then? is the law sin? Far be the thought. But I had not known sin, unless by law: for I had not had conscience also of lust unless the law had said, Thou shalt not lust;

But concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know, (for we all have knowledge: knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. If any one think he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know it.

Love never fails; but whether prophecies, they shall be done away; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part:

For we see now through a dim window obscurely, but then face to face; now I know partially, but then I shall know according as I also have been known.

So that we henceforth know no one according to flesh; but if even we have known Christ according to flesh, yet now we know him thus no longer.

And they shall not teach each his fellow-citizen, and each his brother, saying, Know the Lord; because all shall know me in themselves, from the little one among them unto the great among them.

If ye know that he is righteous, know that every one who practises righteousness is begotten of him.

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding that we should know him that is true; and we are in him that is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
