And he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he begged for his life, that he might die. And he said, It is enough. O Jehovah, take away my life. For I am no better than my fathers.

But he shall say, I am no prophet; I am a man, a tiller of the ground; for a man taught me to buy from my youth.

and am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.

And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and am no more worthy to be called your son.

who alone has immortality, dwelling in light which cannot be approached, whom no one of men have seen, nor can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

And Hezekiah fathered Manasseh, and Manasseh fathered Amon, and Amon fathered Josiah.

And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son,

And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. And his son Amon reigned in his place.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

And the servants of Amon plotted against him and killed the king in his own house.

And the people of the land killed all those who had plotted against King Amon. And the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.

And the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the Books of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah?

And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, as his father Manasseh did; and to all the graven images that his father Manasseh had made, Amon sacrificed, and served them.

And he did not bow before Jehovah, like the humbling of his father Manasseh. For Amon himself multiplied guilt.

And the people of the land killed all those who conspired against King Amon. And the people of the land made his son Josiah to reign in his place.

the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, the sons of Amon.

to whom the Word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even to this day, that is the twenty-third year, the Word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking. But you have not listened.

Are you better than No Amon, that dwelt among the Nile branches, waters all around her, whose rampart was the sea, the waters her wall?

The Word of Jehovah which came to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
