Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly tormented by a demon.”


“Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible agony!”


He also said to them: "Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I don't have anything to offer him.'


But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, and she came up and asked, “Lord, don’t You care that my sister has left me to serve alone? So tell her to give me a hand.”



Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at my house.”


But he hesitated. Because of the Lord’s compassion for him, the men grabbed his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters. Then they brought him out and left him outside the city.




When they heard about resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him. But others said, “We’d like to hear from you again about this.”


each one’s work will become obvious, for the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one’s work.

If anyone’s work is burned up, it will be lost, but he will be saved; yet it will be like an escape through fire.

Your guilty acts have diverted these things from you.
Your sins have withheld My bounty from you,




A person who is passing by and meddles in a quarrel that’s not his
is like one who grabs a dog by the ears.


Don’t take a matter to court hastily.
Otherwise, what will you do afterward
if your opponent humiliates you?


But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth.

Don’t accuse anyone without cause,
when he has done you no harm.



For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and I may not be found by you to be what you want; there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by members of Chloe’s household, that there is rivalry among you.


Instead, believer goes to court against believer, and that before unbelievers!






So she said to Abraham, “Drive out this slave with her son, for the son of this slave will not be a coheir with my son Isaac!”




The men of Israel answered the men of Judah: “We have 10 shares in the king, so we have a greater claim to David than you. Why then do you despise us? Weren’t we the first to speak of restoring our king?” But the words of the men of Judah were harsher than those of the men of Israel.

But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen and said, “The water is ours!” So he named the well Quarrel because they quarreled with him.

and there was quarreling between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land.

The shouting grew loud, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ party got up and argued vehemently: “We find nothing evil in this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

But how can I bear your troubles, burdens, and disputes by myself?


Nation was crushed by nation and city by city, for God troubled them with every possible distress.

May you not become cowardly and fearful
when the report is proclaimed in the land,
for the report will come one year,
and then another the next year.
There will be violence in the land
with ruler against ruler.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be alarmed; these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

Then He told them: "Nation will be raised up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be violent earthquakes, and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven.


he is conceited, understanding nothing, but has a sick interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions,



As charcoal for embers and wood for fire,
so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.








Do not let those who put their hope in You
be disgraced because of me,
Lord God of Hosts;
do not let those who seek You
be humiliated because of me,
God of Israel.
