It will be like a man who leaves his home and goes on a journey, after he has given orders to his slaves, to each his particular task, and has given orders to the watchman to keep watch. So you must keep alert, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming -- in the evening or at midnight or at daybreak or early in the morning --

"Stop letting your hearts be troubled; keep on believing in God, and also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; if there were not, I would have told you, for I am going away to make ready a place for you. And if I go and make it ready for you, I will come back and take you to be face to face with me, so that you may always be right where I am. read more.
And you know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, and so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Jesus knew that they wanted to ask Him a question, and so He said to them, "Are you inquiring of one another about this saying of mine, 'In just a little while you will not see me, and yet in just a little while after you will see me again'? I most solemnly say to you, you will weep and wail, but the world will be glad; you will grieve but your grief will be turned into gladness. When a woman is in labor, she is in pain, for her time has come, but when the baby is born, she forgets her pain because of her joy that a human being has been born into the world. read more.
So you too are now in sorrow, but I am going to see you again, and then your hearts will be happy, and no one can rob you of your happiness.

Since then, my brothers, we have free access to the real sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, the new and living way which He opened for us, through the curtain, that is, His physical nature,

The Spirit is what gives life; the flesh does not help at all. The truths that I have told you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not trust in me." For Jesus knew from the start who they were that did not trust in Him, and who it was that was going to betray Him.

"I am the real vine, and my Father is the cultivator. He cuts away any branch on me that stops bearing fruit, and He repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more. You are already pruned because of the teaching that I have given you.

I know that you are Abraham's descendants, and yet you are trying to kill me, because there is no room in you for my teaching. I am telling you what I have seen in my Father's presence, and you are practicing what you have learned from your father." They answered Him, "Our father is Abraham." Jesus said to them, "If you are Abraham's children, you must be practicing what Abraham did. read more.
But right now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that He has learned from God. Abraham never did that. You are practicing what your real father does." They said to Him, "We are not illegitimate children; we have one Father, even God." Then Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. No, indeed, I have not come on my own authority, but He has sent me. Why is it that you misunderstand what I say? It is because you cannot listen to what I teach. You sprang from the devil, your real father, and you want to practice your father's wishes. He was a murderer from the very start, and he does not stand by the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks out of his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell you the truth, you do not believe me. Who of you can prove me guilty of sin? But if I do tell you the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is sprung from God listens to what God says. This is why you do not listen to me: you are not sprung from God."

But Jesus cried aloud, "Whoever believes in me believes not merely in me but in Him who has sent me; and whoever sees me sees Him who has sent me. I have come as light into the world, so that no one who continues to believe in me can remain in darkness. read more.
If anyone hears my words and fails to keep them, it is not I that judge him, for I have not come to judge but to save the world. Whoever persistently rejects me and refuses to accept my teachings has something to judge him -- the very message I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

Jesus answered him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you knew me, you would know my Father too. From now on you do know Him and you have seen Him." Philip said to Him, "Lord, let us see the Father, and that will satisfy us." read more.
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you disciples so long, and yet you, Philip, have not recognized me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Let us see the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in union with the Father and that the Father is in union with me? I am not saying these things on my own authority, but the Father who always remains in union with me is doing these things Himself. You must believe me, that I am in union with the Father and that the Father is in union with me, or else you must do so because of the very things that I am doing.

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods"'? If men to whom God's message came are called gods -- and the Scriptures cannot be made null and void -- do you now say to me whom my Father has set apart to it and sent into the world, 'You are a blasphemer,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? read more.
If I am not doing the things that my Father is doing, do not believe me. But if I am doing so, even if you will not believe me, believe the deeds, that you may come to know and continue to know that the Father is in union with me and I am in union with the Father."

Jesus answered him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you knew me, you would know my Father too. From now on you do know Him and you have seen Him." Philip said to Him, "Lord, let us see the Father, and that will satisfy us." read more.

When Jesus had said all these things, He lifted His eyes to heaven and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that He may glorify you, just as you have given Him authority over all mankind to give eternal life to all whom you have given Him. Now eternal life means knowing you as the only true God and knowing Jesus your messenger as Christ. read more.
I have glorified you down here upon the earth by completing the work which you have given me to do. So now, Father, glorify me up there in your presence just as you did before the world existed. "I have made your very self known to the men whom you have given me out of the world. At first they were yours, but now you have given them to me, and they have obeyed your message. Now they have come to know that everything you have given me really comes from you; for I have given them the teachings that you gave me, and they have accepted them, and they have come to know in reality that I did come from you, and so they are convinced that you did send me. I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world now, but only for those whom you have given me, because they are yours -- really, all that is mine is yours, and all that is yours is mine -- and I have been glorified through them. And now I am no longer to be in the world, but they are to stay on in the world, while I am going to be with you. Holy Father, keep them by the power which you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are. As long as I was with them, I kept them by your power which you gave me, and I protected them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who is now doomed to be lost, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled. And now I am going to be with you, and I am saying these things while still in the world, that the joy which I experience may be fully experienced in their own souls. I have given them your message, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to it. I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil in it. They do not belong to the world just as I do not belong to it. Consecrate them by your truth; your message is truth. Just as you have sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world, too. And so for their sake I am consecrating myself, that they too may be consecrated by truth. "I make this petition, not for them only, but for all who ever come to believe in me through their message, for them all to be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I in union with you, for them to be in union with us, so that the world may be convinced that you have sent me. I have given them the glory which you gave me, so that they may be one, just as we are, I in union with them and you in union with me, so that they may be perfectly united, and the world may be sure that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you have loved me.

"Stop letting your hearts be troubled; keep on believing in God, and also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; if there were not, I would have told you, for I am going away to make ready a place for you. Even in your own law it is written, 'The testimony of two persons is true.' I do testify to myself, and the Father who has sent me testifies to me." Then they began to say to Him, "Where is your Father?" Jesus answered, "You do not know either me or my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father too."

"I most solemnly say to you, whoever listens to me and believes Him who has sent me possesses eternal life, and will never come under condemnation, but has already passed out of death into life. I most solemnly say to you, a time is coming -- indeed, it is already here -- when the dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and those who listen to it will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life myself. Whoever continues to believe in me will live right on even though he dies, and no person who continues to live and believe in me will ever die at all. Do you believe this?"

It is what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our own eyes, what we have beheld, what our own hands have touched, about the very message of life -- and that life has been unveiled to us, and we have seen it and now testify to it and we now announce it to you, yea, the eternal life that was with the Father and has been unveiled to us.

Jesus answered him, "I most solemnly say to you, no one can ever see the kingdom of God, unless he is born from above." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot again enter his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "I most solemnly say to you, no one can ever get into the kingdom of God, unless he is born of water and the Spirit. read more.
Whatever is born of the physical is physical, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spiritual. Never wonder at my telling you that you must all be born from above. The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. That is just the way it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." Then Nicodemus answered by asking, "How can this be?" Jesus answered him, "Are you a teacher of Israel and do not know this? I most solemnly say to you, we know what we are talking about and we have seen what we are testifying to, yet you are all rejecting our testimony. If you do not believe the earthly things I tell you, how can you believe the heavenly things, if I tell you about them? And yet no one has gone up into heaven except the Son of Man who came down out of heaven. And just as Moses in the desert lifted the serpent on the pole, the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who trusts in Him may have eternal life. "For God loved the world so much that He gave His Only Son, so that anyone who trusts in Him may never perish but have eternal life.

just as you have given Him authority over all mankind to give eternal life to all whom you have given Him. Now eternal life means knowing you as the only true God and knowing Jesus your messenger as Christ.

So through baptism we have been buried with Him in death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father's glorious power, so we too should live an entirely new life. For if we have grown into fellowship with Him by sharing a death like His, surely we shall share a resurrection life like His,

But now, since you have been freed from sin and have become the slaves of God, the immediate result is consecration, and the final destiny is eternal life. For the wages paid by sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life through union with Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our own eyes, what we have beheld, what our own hands have touched, about the very message of life -- and that life has been unveiled to us, and we have seen it and now testify to it and we now announce it to you, yea, the eternal life that was with the Father and has been unveiled to us. I repeat, it is what we have seen and heard that we now announce to you, so that you too may share this fellowship with us, for this fellowship that we have is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ;

Our forefathers in the desert ate the manna, as the Scripture says, 'He gave them out of heaven bread to eat.'" Then Jesus said to them, "I most solemnly say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the real bread out of heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the real bread out of heaven, for the bread that God gives is what comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world." read more.
Then they said to Him, "Give us that bread always, sir!" Jesus said to them, "I am the bread that gives life. Whoever comes to me will never get hungry, and whoever believes in me will never get thirsty.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you yourselves betrayed and disowned before Pilate, although he had decided to set Him free. Yes, you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked a murderer to be pardoned as a favor to you, and you killed the Prince of life, but God raised Him from the dead, to which fact we are witnesses.

I am this living bread that has come down out of heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my own flesh." But the Jews kept on wrangling with one another and saying, "How can He give us His flesh to eat?" Then Jesus said to them, "I most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in you.
