And He appointed twelve [whom He also named apostles], that they might be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach, and to have authority to cast out demons.

And He calleth to Him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two, and was giving them authority over the unclean spirits; and He charged them that they should take nothing for the way, except a staff only; no bread, no wallet, no money in their girdle; but to go shod with sandals; and He said, put not on two coats. read more.
And He said to them, "Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide, till ye depart thence. And whatsoever place does not receive you, and they hear you not, going forth thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony to them."


And, having called together the twelve, He gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to heal diseases; and He sent them forth to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick; and He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey??either staff, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; and not to have two coats. read more.

And these signs shall accompany those having believed: in My name will they cast out demons: they will speak with tongues; they will take up serpents; and, if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." And, if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it; but, if not, it will return to you. And He said to them, "These are My words which I spake to you, while being yet with you: that all things must be fulfilled, that have been written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me." Then He opened their mind, that they might understand the Scriptures; and He said to them, "Thus it has been written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day, read more.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Ye are witnesses of these things, And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you; but abide ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high."

Now I mean this: that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul;" and "I of Apollos;" and "I of Cephas:" and "I of Christ!" Hath Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you?
