Blessed are those whose way is blameless. They walk in the law of Jehovah. Verse ConceptsBlessedCommendationJustice, In Believers' LivesCharacter Of SaintsRejoicing In God's WordEthics

Listen, Israel! JEHOVAH OUR GOD IS ONE GOD! You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with your entire mind and with all your strength. These words that I command you this day must be in your heart. read more.
Carefully teach them to your sons. Talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way. Speak about them when you lie down, and when you rise up. Bind them for a sign upon your hand. They shall be as frontlets between your eyes. Write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates. It shall be like the time when Jehovah your God brought you into the land he promised to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. He would give you large and beautiful cities that you did not build. The houses will be full of good things that you did not put in them. There will be wells that you did not dig. There will be vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant. Jehovah will bring you into this land and you will have all you want to eat. Beware that you do not forget Jehovah, for he brought you out of Egypt your house of bondage.

The law of Jehovah is perfect. It gives new life. The testimony of Jehovah is dependable. It makes the simple wise. The statutes of Jehovah are correct. They make the heart rejoice. The commandments of Jehovah are radiant. They make the eyes shine. The reverence of Jehovah is pure. It endures forever. The decisions of Jehovah are true. They are completely fair. read more.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even the drippings from a honeycomb. They warn your servant. There is a great reward in following them.

The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. Your hands made me and fashioned me. Give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments. May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I wait for your word. read more.
I know, O Jehovah, that your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid! I had not known sin except through the law. For I had not known coveting except the law had said: You should not covet. But sin, finding occasion, worked out in me through the commandment all manner of coveting. Apart from the law sin is dead. I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. read more.
The commandment, which was to life, this I found to be to death. For sin, finding occasion, through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me. The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. Did that which is good become death to me? God forbid! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good. This way sin might be shown to be sin. Through the commandment sin could be recognized. For we know that the law is spiritual. But I am fleshly and sold under sin. I do not understand what I am doing. For what I want to do I do not do. What I hate, I do. But if what I do not want to do, I do, I consent to the law that it is right.

What then is the law? It was added (to cause awareness of sin) because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator. A mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one. Is the Law then against the promises of God? God forbid! If a law had been given which could impart life, righteousness would have been from the Law. read more.
But the Scriptures shut up (imprisoned) (pictured) all things (mankind) under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came the Law held us in custody. We were locked up until faith was revealed. The Law was our schoolmaster (Greek: paedagogue: a combination of schoolmaster, instructor, servant and guardian in charge of us) to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you who were baptized into Christ put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one (united) in Christ Jesus. (John 17:21) (Ephesians 4:4-6) If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise.

It is time for Jehovah to act. They have broken your law. Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more then fine gold. That is why I esteem right all your precepts and I hate every false way. read more.
Your laws are wonderful. Therefore I obey them! The unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

You, O king, saw a large statue. This statue was in fact very large. It was very bright as it stood before you. Its appearance was awesome. The statue had a head of pure gold, chest and arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass. It had legs of iron and its feet were partly of iron, and partly of clay. read more.
You watched while a stone was cut out without hands. It struck the statue upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. The iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broke in pieces together. It became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors. The wind carried them away and no place was found for them. The stone that struck the statue became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. This was the dream! We will interpret it for the king. You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory. He gave the children of men, the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens to your hand. He made you the ruler over them all! You are the head of gold. After you another inferior kingdom will arise and another third kingdom of brass, which will rule over all the earth. The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, since iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things. It is iron that crushes all these. It will break in pieces and crush. The feet and toes you saw, part of potters' clay, and part of iron will be a divided kingdom. It will have the strength of iron. However, you saw the iron mixed with clay. As the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong, and partly broken. The iron mixed with clay will mingle with the seed of men. But they will not adhere to one another. For iron does not stick to clay. In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. Its sovereignty will not be entrusted to another people. It will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it will stand forever! You saw a stone cut out of the mountain without hands. It broke the iron, brass, clay, silver, and the gold to pieces. The great God made known to the king what will happen in the future. The dream is certain, and the interpretation of it is sure.

We have the word of prophecy made sure (steadfast) (firm)! You do well that you pay attention [to God's Word] as you would to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the daystar rises, in your hearts. Know this first that no prophecy of scripture is for private interpretation. For no prophecy ever came by the will of man! Men spoke from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

Jehovah reigns and he is clothed with majesty. Jehovah has girded himself with strength. The world also is established, that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old. You are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their pounding waves. read more.
Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters. Yes he is mightier than the mighty waves of the sea. Your testimonies are very sure: holiness adorns your house, O Jehovah, forever.

Jehovah's deeds are spectacular. They are studied by all who enjoy them. His work is glorious and majestic. His righteousness endures (continues) forever. He has made his miracles unforgettable. Jehovah is gracious and compassionate. read more.
He provides food for those who reverence him. He always remembers his covenant. He has revealed the power of his works to his people by giving them the lands of other nations as an inheritance. His works are done with truth and justice. All his guiding principles are trustworthy.

If your law had not been my delight I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts. By them you have revived me. I am yours, save me for I have sought your precepts. The wicked wait for me to destroy me. I shall diligently consider your laws. I have seen a limit to all perfection. Your commandment is exceedingly broad. O How I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine.

I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me: Do not do that. I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers. You have the witness from Jesus: worship God! There are three that testify: (Latin Vulgate: tres testimonium: three that testify.) The Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are in agreement (accord) (concurrence) (harmony). (Latin Vulgate: Spiritus et aqua et sanguis et tres unum: Spirit, water, and blood are united.) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God is this, that he gave witness concerning his Son.
