If this discipline does not help and you still resist, I will resist you. I will punish you seven times for your sins.

If you do evil and reject Jehovah, he will bring on you trouble, confusion, and rebuke in everything you do. Soon you will be quickly and completely destroyed.

You put up with them for years. You admonished them by your Spirit through your prophets. Still they did not listen. So you gave them up into the hands of the peoples of the lands.

Blessed is the person whom God corrects. Do not despise discipline from the Almighty.

With stern reproof you discipline people for their iniquity. Like a moth you consume what is dear to them. Certainly, everyone is like a breath of air.

When you did these things, I remained silent. That made you think I was like you. I will argue my point with you and lay it all out for you to see.

Jehovah, how happy are those you instruct, the ones to whom you teach your law!

He permitted no man to do them wrong and he reproved kings for their sakes.

You rebuke the arrogant, the cursed, and all who wander from your commandments.

Your own wickedness will correct you. Your apostasies (unfaithful ways) will punish you! You should know and see how evil and bitter it is for you when you abandon Jehovah your God! You do not respect (reverence) me, says the Sovereign Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

God finds fault with his people and said to them: 'The time is coming,' says Jehovah, 'when I will draw up a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. (Jeremiah 31:31)

The pillars of heaven tremble, and are astounded at his rebuke.

The vine has been cut down and burned. Let them be destroyed by the threatening look on your face.

They fled at your rebuke. At the sound of your thunder they hurried away.

The people took from the plunder of the flock the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to Jehovah your God in Gilgal. Samuel said: What is more pleasing to Jehovah, burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Obeying is better than sacrifice. To pay attention is better than the fat of rams. The sin of divination is rebellion. Wickedness and idolatry are arrogance. They are evil. Because you rejected the word of Jehovah, he rejects you as king. Then Saul told Samuel: I have sinned by not following Jehovah's command or your instructions. I was afraid of the people and listened to them. But now I beg you, forgive my sin and return with me, so that I can worship Jehovah. I will not return with you, Samuel answered. You rejected Jehovah's command. He has rejected you as king of Israel.

Later David's conscience bothered him because he had cut off the edge of Saul's robe. He told his men: Stop talking foolishly. We are not going to attack Saul. He is my king. I pray that Jehovah will keep me from doing anything to harm his chosen king. David stopped his men by saying this to them. He did not let them attack Saul. I swear to you that I will cause someone from your own family to bring trouble to you. You will see it when I take your wives from you and give them to another man. He will have intercourse with them in broad daylight. You did this secretly. I will make this happen in broad daylight in front of all Israel.'

Then he said in answer: I have not made trouble for Israel. You and your family have. You have disobeyed Jehovah's commands and have gone after the Baals.

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin came together to Jerusalem before three days were past. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people were seated in the wide square in front of the house of God. They shook with fear because of this business of this business and because of the great rain. Ezra the priest got to his feet and said to them: You have done wrong and taken strange women for your wives, thus increasing the sin of Israel. Do not bring any more worthless grain offerings. Your incense is disgusting to me! So are your New Moon Festivals, your days of worship, and the assemblies you call. I cannot endure your evil assemblies! I hate your New Moon Festivals and your appointed festivals. They are a burden to me. I am tired of putting up with them. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves! Become clean! Get your evil deeds out of my sight. Stop doing evil. Learn to do good (well) (right). Seek justice. Correct oppressors. Defend orphans. Plead the case of widows.

Hear the word of Jehovah, you children of Israel! For Jehovah has a legal case against the inhabitants of the land. There is no truth! There is no goodness. There is no knowledge of God in the land. They do nothing but swear, deceive, kill, steal and commit adultery! There is violence and bloodshed in the land. Therefore the land will mourn. All the inhabitants are weak. The beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea will also perish.

Jesus ordered the unclean spirit to leave the boy. It left him and the boy was made well immediately.

When Jesus saw the people he ordered the unclean spirit to come out of him. He commanded the spirit that caused the loss of voice and hearing to leave and never return to him.

When he came near the demon slammed him down and through him in to a convulsion. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

Demons came out from many. They cried out: You are the Son of God! He rebuked them and charged them not to speak for they knew he was the Christ.

He turned around and looked at his disciples. Then he rebuked Peter saying: Get behind me Satan for you do not pay attention to the things of God. You tend to the things of men.

He turned to Peter and said: Get behind me, Satan. You are a stumbling block to me. You think the things of men, not of God.

Afterward he was revealed to the eleven as they sat at the table. He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Peter protested and rebuked Jesus. He said: Do not think of that, Lord; it will never happen to you.

Jesus spoke openly about this. Peter took him aside and rebuked him.

Then some people brought little children to him. They wanted him to lay his hands on them and bless them. But the disciples tried to stop them.

People were bringing little children to him so he could touch them. His disciples turned them away.

They brought all their babes to him that he should touch them. When the disciples saw it they rebuked them.

John reproved Herod the tetrarch for all the evil things he had done for he took his brother Herodias' wife.

The other rebuked him saying: Do you not respect God, seeing you are also condemned? We are indeed justly condemned for we receive the due reward of our deeds. But this man has done nothing wrong.

Listen when I reprove you. I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make my words known to you. I called you! I stretched out my hand to you. You paid no attention to me. You have ignored all my counsel. You accept no correction.read more.
I also will laugh at your trouble. I will mock when your fear comes.

For the commandment is a lamp. The law is light. Reproofs for instruction are the way of life.

He who regards instruction is in the way of life. He who refuses reproof goes (mentally and morally) astray.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. He that hates reproof is stupid.

Correction is severe for the person who forsakes the way. He who hates reproof will die.

Reproof influences a wise man more than a hundred stripes does to a fool.

Strike a scoffer and the simple will be wary. Reprove someone who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge.

Correct a scoffer and get dishonor for yourself. Rebuke a wicked man and receive insults. Correct a scoffer (mocker) (scorner) and he will hate you. Reprove a wise man and he will love you.

Never hate your brother in your heart. Be sure to correct your neighbor so that you will not be guilty of sinning along with him.

If your brother does wrong to you, go to him in private. Clearly explain his error between you and him. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother back.

So watch how you behave. Admonish your brother to repent when he sins. Forgive him when he repents.

Brothers, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right. But you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.

We preach Christ to everyone. With all possible wisdom we warn and teach them in order to bring each one to God as a mature individual in union with Christ.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you with all wisdom. Teach and admonish one another with psalms, praises to God, and spiritual songs. Sing with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Do not rebuke (censure) (criticize) an elder, but appeal to him as a father, the younger men as brothers.

Reprove the sinner in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

God inspired all Scripture! It is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (Greek: theopneustos: God-breathed)

preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to reprove (refute) (rebuke) those who contradict.

Speak and exhort and reprove these things with all authority. Let no man despise you.

My brothers, if any among you strays from the truth, and one brings him back, let him know, that he who turns a sinner back from the error of his way will save a person from death, and cover a multitude of sins.

You have forgotten the exhortation that reasons with you as to sons: My son, do not despise (regard lightly) discipline from Jehovah and do not lose heart when he corrects you. (Proverbs 3:11, 12)

Do everything with love.

Jehovah disciplines those he loves. In fact he scourges every son (child) he receives.

For whom Jehovah loves He reproves, just like a father corrects the son he loves dearly. (Hebrews 12:6)

I reprove and discipline those whom I love: be zealous therefore, and repent.
