Wherefore, beloved, seeing ye expect these things, give diligence to be found of Him in peace, spotless and blameless;

So ye also, since ye are so desirous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound in them to the edification of the church.

It is certain, if any one is desirous of the episcopal office, he desireth a good work.

being studious however so to preach the gospel, not where Christ had been named, least I should build upon another man's foundation;

For if I preach the gospel, yet I have no ground for boasting; because I am under necessity to do it: and wo is me if I do not preach the Gospel.

Some indeed through envy and strife, and some also through good-will: the former preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, thinking to add affliction to my bonds; the others out of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.read more.
