21 Bible Verses about Chastity

For out of the heart proceed wicked disputings, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witnessings, slanders:

that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

Neither let us commit whoredom, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

But I have a few things against thee; for thou hast there those that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

neither did they repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their whoredom, nor of their thefts.

Let us behave decently as being in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lasciviousness, not in strife and envying.

wherefore my advice is, not to trouble those who from among the Gentiles are converted to God; but to write to them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

Flee from whoredom. Every other sin, that a man committeth, is without the body; but he, that committeth whoredom, sinneth against his own body.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or inordinate desire, let it not be even named among you; for so it becometh saints:

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification: that ye should abstain from fornication,

I wrote to you in an epistle, not to associate with whoremongers: but I did not mean not at all with the whoremongers of this world, or the covetous, or rapacious, or idolaters: since ye must then go out of the world. But now I have written to you, not to associate with him, if any one, that is called a brother, be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or rapacious; with such a one no not to eat.

Flee from whoredom. Every other sin, that a man committeth, is without the body; but he, that committeth whoredom, sinneth against his own body. What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price. Glorify God therefore in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Flee youthful passions: and follow righteousness, fidelity, love, and peace, with all those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart:

Dearly beloved, I exhort you as strangers and sojourners here, to abstain from carnal lusts, which war against the soul:

Then I looked and behold a Lamb standing on mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written on their foreheads. These are they who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins: these are they who follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth: these were redeemed from among men, as the first-fruits unto God and the Lamb.

But if they have not the gift of continence, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with lust.

And Jesus replied, He wrote this precept on account of your cruel tempers: but from the beginning of the world, God created them male and female. And when they were in the house his disciples asked Him again about it: and He told them, Whoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman be divorced from her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Ye have heard, that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I tell you, that whosoever looketh on a woman, so as to lust after her, hath already debauched her in his heart.

Thou, that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou, that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
