Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Until now have you asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thus with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that in this I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Pray without ceasing.

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

[To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have delivered me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, And said, I cried by reason of my affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of sheol cried I, and you heard my voice. For you had cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods surrounded me: all your billows and your waves passed over me.

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy sanctuary. Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.read more.
Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them what they deserve. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up. Blessed be the LORD, because he has heard the voice of my supplications. And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz.

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Set your house in order: for you shall die, and not live. Awake, why sleep you, O Lord? arise, cast us not off forever. Why hide you your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our body cleaves unto the earth.read more.

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our possessions. For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
