Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive,

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show godliness to their own household and to make some return to their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.

Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

Masters, treat your slaves justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

"You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

"You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns. You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), lest he cry against you to the LORD, and you be guilty of sin.

"If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or my maidservant, when they brought a complaint against me, what then shall I do when God rises up? When he makes inquiry, what shall I answer him?
