Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter,

By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch them.

So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, left over by those who had eaten.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served, while Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him.

Then Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there were a great number of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them.

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.

Then the angel said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are true words of God."

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take; this is my body."

Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.'"

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did.

And he said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

Now on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?" He said, "Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, 'The Teacher says, my time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.'" When evening had come, he sat at the table with the twelve.

For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'"

Then he said to him, "A certain man gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time of the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, 'Come, for all is now ready.' But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' read more.
And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' So the servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in the poor and the maimed, the blind and the lame.' And the servant said, 'Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'"

And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; but they were not willing to come. read more.
Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.'" But they made light of it and went off, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the highways, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.' And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' For many are called, but few are chosen."

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he cried to all the birds that fly in midheaven, "Come, gather for the great supper of God,

Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome."

Now after several years I came to bring alms to my nation and to present offerings.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.

But we sailed away from Philippi after the Days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days came to them at Troas, where we stayed seven days.

but on taking leave of them he said, "I will return to you if God wills," and he set sail from Ephesus.

and as she stood behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the perfume.

Then, leaning back on the breast of Jesus, he said to him, "Lord, who is it?"

"Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast.

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. read more.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the crowd came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. They were amazed and wondered, saying, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear them, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabswe hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God."

"When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest one more distinguished than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come and say to you, 'Give place to this man,' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you.

His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.

But an opportunity came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his high officers and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee.

But when Herod's birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

"Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; but they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.'"

He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the master of the feast." So they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it had come from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

He answered, "He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me.
