Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.

And he killed their choice ones by the sword in the house of their holy place, and had no pity on the young man and the virgin, the old man and the very aged; He gave all into his hand. And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king, and of his rulers, he brought all these to Babylon. And they burned the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all the palaces of it with fire, and destroyed all its beautiful vessels.read more.
And the ones who had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia,

And they shall fall by the sword's edge. And shall be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the nations until the times of the nations is fulfilled.

Have mercy on me, O Jehovah, for I am in trouble; my eye has become old with grief, my soul and my belly. For my life is ending with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones have wasted away.

through glory and dishonor, through evil report and good report; as deceivers and yet true;

Terrors have turned on me; they pursue my soul like the wind; and my good passes away like a cloud.

While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice fell from Heaven, saying, O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken. The kingdom has departed from you.

But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his rulership, to cut off and to destroy until the end.

And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the wind blew and beat on that house. And it fell, and great was its fall.

But he who hears and does not perform, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, on which the stream burst, and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.

Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing out its fruits.

His lord answered and said to him, Evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reaped where I did not sow, and gathered where I did not scatter, then you should have put my money to the exchangers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.read more.
