Of all my affairs Tychicus will inform you, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord; whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he may know your condition, and comfort your hearts; together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I know your state. For I have no one likeminded, who will have a true concern for your state;

But there was a certain man sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. And Jesus hearing this said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When therefore he heard that he was sick, he remained in the place where he was two days.

And he went round the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

The blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and to the poor good tidings are brought;

[saying,] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.

And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Isaiah; and unrolling the book, he found the place where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he hath sent me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

Now they who were scattered abroad by the persecution that arose on account of Stephen traveled as far as Phenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none but Jews. But some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Greeks, publishing the glad tidings of the Lord Jesus.

And his fame went forth into all Syria; and they brought to him all that were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were possessed by demons, and lunatics, and those who were struck with palsy; and he healed them.

But when they believed Philip, publishing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, "Lord, who hath believed what he hath heard from us?"
