Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost, and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. These twelve did Jesus send forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not among the gentiles, neither enter into any city of the Samaritans: but go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand: and in confirmation of your doctrine heal the sick,
And He calleth unto Him the twelve, and sent them forth two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits; and ordered them to take nothing for their journey, but a staff only; no bag, nor bread, nor money in their purse: but to tie on their sandals, and not to put on two coats.read more.
And He said unto them, wheresoever ye enter into a house, there stay till ye leave that place. And whosoever will not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgement, than for that city. And they went forth, and preached that men should repent.

but do ye continue in the city of Jerusalem, till ye are endued with power from on high.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven as of a strong rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. and they were all filled with the holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. Then Peter filled with the holy Spirit said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, if we are this day examined about the benefit done to the impotent man, by what means he is cured, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, but whom God hath raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.read more.
This is the stone that was set at nought by you builders, which is become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we can be saved.
While Peter was yet speaking these words, the holy Spirit fell upon all them that heard the word.
And my discourse, and my preaching was not with the persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power; that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
And He saith unto them, Let us go into the neighbouring towns, that I may preach there also; for this was the end of my coming.

and He came and preached peace to you that were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

And as the lame man that was healed had hold of Peter and John, all the people being astonished ran together to them to the porch called Solomon's porch. And Peter seeing this said to the people, Men of Israel, why marvel ye at this, or why look ye so earnestly on us, as if by our own power or piety we had made this man able to walk? The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied before Pilate, when he determined to release Him.read more.
But ye refused the holy and righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you: and put to death the prince of life; whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. For Moses said unto the fathers, the Lord your God will raise up a prophet unto you, of your brethren, like me, Him shall ye hear in all things whatever He shall say unto you; and every soul, who will not hearken to that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people: yea and all the prophets from Samuel, and those that followed, as many as have prophesied, have also foretold these days. Now ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant, which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed:" and to you first God having raised up his son Jesus, sent Him to bless you; in your turning away every one of you from your iniquities.

But on the contrary, seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of uncircumcision, as Peter was with that of the circumcision;
but as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who trieth our hearts.
which is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I was intrusted.
and hath in his own times manifested his word, by the preaching, with which I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour:
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, sober, prudent, grave,
And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry, to the edifying of the body of Christ:
preach the word, be instant both in season and out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and instruction. For the time will come, when they will not bear sound doctrine; but having itching ears, will heap up to themselves teachers after their own hearts: and turn away their attention from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.read more.
But be thou watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, give full proof of thy ministry.
For a bishop must be blameless as the steward of God, not self-willed, not passionate, not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of sordid gain: but hospitable, benevolent, sober, just, holy, temperate; holding fast the faithful word, according as he hath been taught, that he may be able both to instruct in sound doctrine, and to convince gainsayers.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in fine speech, least the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the doctrine of the cross is to them, that perish, foolishness: but to us, who are saved, it is the power of God.
And he immediately preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. For I am a debtor both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the learned and the unlearned: therefore am I ready, as much as in me lies, to preach the gospel to you also that are at Rome.
And whereas the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks look for wisdom, we preach Christ crucified; to the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness; but to them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.read more.

For, since in the wisdom of God the world by it's wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by what they called the folly of preaching to save those that believe.
My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we who are such shall pass a stricter trial than others: for in many things we all offend;
Behold thou art called a Jew, and restest on the law, and boastest in God, and knowest his will, and approvest things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, and art persuaded that thou art a guide of the blind,read more.
a light to them that are in the darkness, an instructor of the simple, a teacher of babes, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth which is in the law. Thou then, who teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou, that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou, that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou, that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Thou, that boastest in the law, dost thou by transgression of the law dishonour God? for through you the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, as it is written.
