So the last shall be first, and the first shall be last. For many are called, and few be chosen."
And this glad tidings of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.
for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets and shall do great miracles and wonders. Insomuch that if it were possible, even the very elect should be deceived.
And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out, to crucify him.

And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times, or the seasons which the father hath put in his own power:
and had favour with all the people, and the Lord added to the congregation daily such as should be saved.
Brethren, look on your calling how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many of high degree are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise. And God hath chosen the weak things of the world, to confound things which are mighty. And vile things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things of no reputation, for to bring to nought things of reputation,read more.

but we speak the wisdom of God, which is in secret and lieth hid, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which wisdom none of the rulers of the world knew. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

That is to say, in him in whom we are made heirs, and were thereto predestinate according to the purpose of him which worketh all things after the purpose of his own will:
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, unto the which God ordained us before, that we should walk in them.
to the intent that now, unto the rulers and powers in heaven, might be known by the congregation the manifold wisdom of God, according to that eternal purpose, which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord,
