Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honored.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

As an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Whoever loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

My answer to them that examine me is this,

Reprove not a scorner, lest he shall hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
