The flood came upon the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark high above the earth.

Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.

Take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them. Noah did everything exactly as God commanded him.

Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. He did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly!

He preached to the people in prison. They were disobedient while the ark was being built. Yet God waited patiently in the days of Noah. But few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.

By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not seen as yet, moved with godly respect. He prepared an ark to save his house. By his faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.

I will remember my covenant with you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters flood to destroy all life. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will the waters of a flood destroy all life. Never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.

For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God, by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.

God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark. He sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the skies were closed. So the rain stopped falling from the sky.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.

After the flood, Noah lived three hundred and fifty years.

The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.

Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out. Men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.

Will you keep to the old way that the wicked have trod? They were snatched away before their time. Their foundation is washed away by flood. They said to God: 'Leave us alone.' They asked: 'What can the Almighty do to us?'
