Give instruction to a youth about his way, Even when he is old he turneth not from it.

And the fathers! provoke not your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.

Not as putting you to shame do I write these things, but as my beloved children I do admonish, for if a myriad of child-conductors ye may have in Christ, yet not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus, through the good news, I -- I did beget you;

night and day exceedingly beseeching, that we might see your face, and perfect the things lacking in your faith.

holding -- according to the teaching -- to the stedfast word, that he may be able also to exhort in the sound teaching, and the gainsayers to convict;

Elders who are among you, I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory about to be revealed a partaker, feed the flock of God that is among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind, neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,

The younger men, in like manner, be exhorting to be sober-minded; concerning all things thyself showing a pattern of good works; in the teaching uncorruptedness, gravity, incorruptibility,

'The silver or gold or garments of no one did I covet; and ye yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, minister did these hands; all things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth us to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

I call upon you, therefore, become ye followers of me; because of this I sent to you Timotheus, who is my child, beloved and faithful in the Lord, who shall remind you of my ways in Christ, according as everywhere in every assembly I teach.

Followers of me become ye, as I also am of Christ.

the things that also ye did learn, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, those do, and the God of the peace shall be with you.

because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as ye have known of what sort we became among you because of you, and ye -- ye did become imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

and we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the infirm, be patient unto all; see no one evil for evil may render to any one, but always that which is good pursue ye, both to one another and to all;

And him who is weak in the faith receive ye -- not to determinations of reasonings;

but see, lest this privilege of yours may become a stumbling-block to the infirm, for if any one may see thee that hast knowledge in an idol's temple reclining at meat -- shall not his conscience -- he being infirm -- be emboldened to eat the things sacrificed to idols, and the brother who is infirm shall perish by thy knowledge, because of whom Christ died?read more.
and thus sinning in regard to the brethren, and smiting their weak conscience -- in regard to Christ ye sin; wherefore, if victuals cause my brother to stumble, I may eat no flesh -- to the age -- that my brother I may not cause to stumble.

Brethren, if a man also may be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering thyself -- lest thou also may be tempted; of one another the burdens bear ye, and so fill up the law of the Christ,

wherefore, comfort ye one another, and build ye up, one the one, as also ye do.

aged women, in like manner, in deportment as doth become sacred persons, not false accusers, to much wine not enslaved, of good things teachers, that they may make the young women sober-minded, to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children, sober, pure, keepers of their own houses, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of.

as new-born babes the word's pure milk desire ye, that in it ye may grow,

with milk I fed you, and not with meat, for ye were not yet able, but not even yet are ye now able,

Brethren, become not children in the understanding, but in the evil be ye babes, and in the understanding become ye perfect;

concerning whom we have much discourse and of hard explanation to say, since ye have become dull of hearing, for even owing to be teachers, because of the time, again ye have need that one teach you what are the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God, and ye have become having need of milk, and not of strong food, for every one who is partaking of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness -- for he is an infant,read more.
and of perfect men is the strong food, who because of the use are having the senses exercised, unto the discernment both of good and of evil.

and increase ye in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; to him is the glory both now, and to the day of the age! Amen.

and we all, with unvailed face, the glory of the Lord beholding in a mirror, to the same image are being transformed, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

and, being true in love, we may increase to Him in all things, who is the head -- the Christ;

We ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because increase greatly doth your faith, and abound doth the love of each one of you all, to one another;
