Jesus answer'd her, woman, leave that affair to me, is not that my concern? upon which his mother bid the servants do whatever he should order. now there were six cisterns of stone plac'd there for the use of the Jews in their purifications, containing two or three firkins a-piece. these Jesus order'd the waiters to fill with water. so they filled them up to the brim. now fill out, said he, and carry it to the steward of the feast, which accordingly they did. as soon as the steward had tasted the water that was made wine, (for he did not know whence it came, but the servants who drew the water knew it,) he called the bridegroom, and said to him, 'tis usual to present the best wine first, and afterwards the worse, when the guests have drank pretty freely: but you have reserved the best wine to the last.
Discontinue the drinking of bare water, take a litle wine out of regard to your weak stomach, and your frequent indispositions.

but Jesus said to them, you know not what you ask. can you drink the cup, that I must drink, and be baptized with the baptism with which I must be baptized? and they said, we can. but Jesus replied, you shall indeed drink of the cup, that I must drink of, and be baptized with the baptism, with which I must be baptized; but to sit on my right hand,
then said Jesus to Peter, sheath thy sword: the cup which my father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Jesus answered her, they that drink of this water, will be thirsty again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst: for the water that I shall give him, shall be in him a fountain springing up to everlasting life.
In the last day, the most solemn day of the feast, Jesus being there, raised his voice, and said, if any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
and he took the cup, and having given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, drink ye all of it: for this represents my blood, the blood of the new covenant which is shed for mankind for the remission of sins. but this I tell you, I shall not drink any more wine with you from this time forth to the day, when I shall drink with you, of the spiritual wine, in my father's kingdom.
and he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. and he said to them, this represents the effusion of my blood (the sanction of the new covenant) for mankind. but this I tell you, I will never more drink of this fruit of the vine, from this time forth to that day, when I shall drink with you of the spiritual wine in the kingdom of God.
having then taken the cup, and given thanks, he said, take this, and distribute it to one another. for I tell you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine to the time when the kingdom of God shall come.
and after supper he likewise gave the cup, saying, this cup is the new testament sealed by my blood, which is shed for you.
but Jesus answer'd, I assure you, except ye eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, ye will have no life in you. he that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. for my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.read more.
