For I the LORD, which love right and hate robbery, though it were offered me, shall make their works full of faithfulness, and make an everlasting covenant with them.
What shall we say then? Is there any unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
He is a Rock, and perfect are his deeds, for all his ways are with discretion. God is faithful and without wickedness, both righteous and just is he.
Better it is to have a little thing with righteousness, than great rents wrongfully gotten.
Woe be unto you that make unrighteous laws, and devise things, which be too hard for to keep:
Moreover, I saw under the sun ungodliness in the stead of judgment, and iniquity instead of righteousness.
rejoiceth not in iniquity: but rejoiceth in the truth,
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment. Thou shalt not favour the poor nor honour the mighty, but shalt judge thy neighbour righteously.
Why lettest thou me see weariness and labour? Tyranny and violence are before me, power overgoeth right:
Or is not this rather the fast that I have chosen? To loose wicked bonds, and to unbind bundles of oppression? And to let the bruised go free? And that ye should break all manner yokes?
Study to do righteously, and help the oppressed. Avenge the fatherless and defend the cause of widows. Come, let us show each his grief to other and make an atonement, saith the LORD.
But the just LORD that doth no unright, was among them, every morning showing them his law clearly, and ceased not. But the ungodly will not learn to be ashamed.
He that soweth wickedness shall reap sorrow; and the rod of his plague shall destroy him.
But ye imagine mischief in your hearts, and your hands deal with wickedness.
But now they have plowed them wickedness, therefore shall they reap sin, and eat the fruit of lies. Seeing thou puttest thy confidence in thine own ways, and leanest to the multitude of thy worthies:
Woe worth him, that buildeth his house with unrighteousness, and his parlors with the good that he hath gotten by violence: which never recompenceth his neighbour's labour, nor payeth him his hire.
if thou wouldst put away the wickedness which thou hast in hand, so that no ungodliness dwelt in thy house;
that the poor may have hope, and that the mouth of the oppressor may be stopped.
Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why rather suffer ye not wrong? Why rather suffer ye not yourselves to be robbed?
For the wrath of God appeareth from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men which withhold the truth in unrighteousness.
Turn into your own selves, I pray you: be indifferent judges, and consider my guiltlessness:
For your great reproof and shame, shall they have joy, that ye may have part with them. For they shall have double possession in their land and everlasting joy shall be with them.
Wilt thou have anything to do with the stool of wickedness, which imagineth mischief as a law?
There is plenteousness of food in the fields of the poor; and shall be increased out of measure.
Thine eyes are clean, thou mayest not see evil, thou cannot behold the thing that is wicked. Wherefore then doest thou look upon the ungodly, and holdest thy tongue, when the wicked devoureth the man that is better than himself?
To do righteousness and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Woe unto him, that buildeth the town with blood, and maintaineth the city with unrighteousness.
If thou seest the poor to be oppressed and wrongfully dealt withal, so that equity and the right of the law is wrested in the land: marvel not thou at such judgment, for one great man keepeth touch with another, and the mighty help themselves together.
