'Streets' in the Bible
Do not tell it in Gath,don’t announce it in the marketplaces of Ashkelon,or the daughters of the Philistines will rejoice,and the daughters of the uncircumcised will gloat.
I pulverize them like dust of the earth;I crush them and trample them like mud in the streets.

Should your springs flow in the streets,streams of water in the public squares?
The slacker says, “There’s a lion outside!I’ll be killed in the public square!”
I will arise now and go about the city,through the streets and the plazas.I will seek the one I love.I sought him, but did not find him.
Therefore the Lord’s anger burns against His people.He raised His hand against them and struck them;the mountains quaked,and their corpses were like garbage in the streets.In all this, His anger is not removed,and His hand is still raised to strike.
I will send him against a godless nation;I will command him to goagainst a people destined for My rage,to take spoils, to plunder,and to trample them down like clay in the streets.
In its streets they wear sackcloth;on its rooftops and in its public squares everyone wails,falling down and weeping.
In the streets they cry for wine.All joy grows dark;earth’s rejoicing goes into exile.
Listen! Their warriors cry loudly in the streets;the messengers of peace weep bitterly.
He will not cry out or shoutor make His voice heard in the streets.
Some of you will rebuild the ancient ruins;you will restore the foundations laid long ago;you will be called the repairer of broken walls,the restorer of streets where people live.
Roam through the streets of Jerusalem.Look and take note;search in her squares.If you find one person,any who acts justly,who seeks to be faithful,then I will forgive her.
Don’t you see how they behave in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
I will remove from the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem the sound of joy and gladness and the voices of the groom and the bride, for the land will become a desolate waste.
for Death has climbed through our windows;it has entered our fortresses,cutting off children from the streets,young men from the squares.
The Lord said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: Obey the words of this covenant and carry them out.

“This is what the Lord says: In this place, which you say is a ruin, without man or beast—that is, in Judah’s cities and Jerusalem’s streets that are a desolation without man, without inhabitant, and without beast—there will be heard again
So My fierce wrath poured out and burned in Judah’s cities and Jerusalem’s streets so that they became the desolate ruin they are today.
Have you forgotten the evils of your fathers, the evils of Judah’s kings, the evils of their wives, your own evils, and the evils of your wives that were committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
Instead, we will do everything we said we would: burn incense to the queen of heaven and offer drink offerings to her just as we, our fathers, our kings, and our officials did in Judah’s cities and in Jerusalem’s streets. Then we had enough food and good things and saw no disaster,
“As for the incense you burned in Judah’s cities and in Jerusalem’s streets—you, your fathers, your kings, your officials, and the people of the land—did the Lord not remember them? He brought this to mind.
Those who were slain will fall in the land of the Chaldeans,those who were pierced through, in her streets.
כ KafMy eyes are worn out from weeping;I am churning within.My heart is poured out in griefbecause of the destruction of my dear people,because children and infants faintin the streets of the city.
ל LamedThey cry out to their mothers:Where is the grain and wine?as they faint like the woundedin the streets of the city,as their lives fade awayin the arms of their mothers.
שׁ ShinBoth young and oldare lying on the ground in the streets.My young men and womenhave fallen by the sword.You have killed them in the day of Your anger,slaughtering without compassion.
ה HeThose who used to eat delicaciesare destitute in the streets;those who were reared in purple garmentshuddle in garbage heaps.
ח KhetNow they appear darker than soot;they are not recognized in the streets.Their skin has shriveled on their bones;it has become dry like wood.
נ NunBlind, they stumbled in the streets,defiled by this blood,so that no one daredto touch their garments.
צ TsadeOur steps were closely followedso that we could not walk in our streets.Our end drew near; our time ran out.Our end had come!

The Lord of Hosts says this: “Old men and women will again sit along the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of advanced age.
The streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in them.”
Tyre has built herself a fortress;she has heaped up silver like dustand gold like the dirt of the streets.
they will be like warriors in battletrampling down the mud of the streets.They will fight because the Lord is with them,and they will put horsemen to shame.
So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!
