Ye did not first choose me, but I chose you, and have appointed you to go forth, and bear fruit, and that your fruit should be lasting: that whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, He may give it you.
upon which He saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers few: therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest, that He would send out laborers into his harvest.
After these things the Lord appointed also seventy others, and sent them two and two before Him, into every city and place, whither He himself was about to come. And He said unto them, The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few: pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that He would send out workmen to his harvest. Go your ways: behold I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves.
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth the fruit together unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together; for herein the saying is verified, that one soweth, and another reapeth, in as much as I have sent you to reap that on which ye have not laboured: others have laboured, and ye are entered into their labors.
And He called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases:
And He called unto Him his twelve disciples, and gave them power over impure spirits, even to cast them out; and to cure all diseases and every malady whatsoever.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me both in heaven and on earth.
And He calleth unto Him the twelve, and sent them forth two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits;
And these signs shall accompany them that believe; in my name shall they cast out demons, they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they should drink any thing poisonous, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall be well.
And the seventy returned with joy saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us through thy name. And He said unto them, I beheld Satan, as lightning, falling from heaven. Behold I give you power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the might of the enemy; and nothing shall at all hurt you.
Then said Jesus unto them again, Peace be to you. As my Father sent me, even so send I you.
But ye shall receive power from the holy Spirit coming upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.
but do ye continue in the city of Jerusalem, till ye are endued with power from on high.
And when He said this, He breathed upon them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the holy Spirit:
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with freedom.
God also testifying together with them by signs, and wonders, and divers miracles, and gifts of the holy Spirit, according to his own will.
Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost, and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
They therefore that received his word with readiness were baptized: and in that same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfast in the apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
crying out, and saying, "Sirs, why do ye these things? we also are men subject to the like infirmities with you, and we preach the gospel unto you, that ye may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea,
And a certain woman named Lydia, a purple-seller of the city of Thyatira, who worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things that were spoken by Paul. And when she was baptized and her family, she requested us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and lodge there. And she constrained us.
But Crispus the ruler of the synagogue believed on the Lord with all his house: and many of the Corinthians hearing the word believed, and were baptized.
But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach unless they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good tidings of peace, who bring the good tidings of good things?
(for this Life was manifested, and we saw it; and we testify and declare unto you that eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us) what we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us: and our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand: and in confirmation of your doctrine heal the sick, cleanse the leprous, raise the dead, cast out demons; and as ye have received freely, freely give.
And they went forth and preached every where, the Lord co-operating with them, and confirming the word by miracles following upon it. Amen.
And they went from town to town, preaching the gospel and healing every where.
But none of these things move me, nor do I account my life dear, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
But Philip was found at Azotus; and as he passed along, he preached the gospel in all the cities, till he came to Cesarea.
for God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how incessantly I make mention of you always in my prayers,
being studious however so to preach the gospel, not where Christ had been named, least I should build upon another man's foundation;
The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand as a prince and saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins: and we are his witnesses of what we declare; and so is the holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him.
But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,) He shall testify of me. And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly regions; according to the ancient purpose, which He executed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
having a good conversation among the Gentiles; that whereas they speak against you as evil-doers, they may glorify God in the day of their visitation, on account of the good works which they behold in you.
and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
and this gospel of the kingdom of heaven shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations; and then shall the end come.
And He said unto them, Go to all the world and preach the gospel to every one:
These twelve did Jesus send forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not among the gentiles, neither enter into any city of the Samaritans: but go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Take not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses: take no bag for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor weapons; for the laborer is worthy of his food. And into whatsoever city or town ye enter, inquire who in it is a worthy person, and there remain till ye leave the place.read more.
And when ye come into the house, salute them: and if the family be worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if they be not worthy, your salutation shall return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hearken to your words; when ye come out of that house or city, shake off the very dust of your feet: for I tell you verily, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha, in the day of judgement, than for that city.
and ordered them to take nothing for their journey, but a staff only; no bag, nor bread, nor money in their purse: but to tie on their sandals, and not to put on two coats. And He said unto them, wheresoever ye enter into a house, there stay till ye leave that place.read more.
And whosoever will not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgement, than for that city.
And He said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; nor two coats a piece. And into whatever house ye enter, continue there, till ye leave that place. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye depart from that city, shake off the very dust from your feet, for a testimony against them.
Carry neither purse, nor bag, nor shoes; and salute no one by the way. But whatever house ye come into, first say, Peace be to this house: and if there be a child of peace there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall return upon yourselves.read more.
But remain in the same house, eating and drinking such as they have; for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you; and heal those in it that are sick, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come unto you. But into whatever city ye come, and they receive you not, go out into the streets of it and say, even the dust that cleaveth to us out of your city we wipe off against you: but know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. And I tell you, it shall be more tolerable in that day even for Sodom than for that city.
Now they that were dispersed by the trouble, which arose about Stephen, travelled as far as Phenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but the Jews only.
Now they that were dispersed went about preaching the word. And Philip coming to the city of Samaria, preached Christ unto them. And the people unanimously attended to the things which were spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he wrought:read more.
for impure spirits crying with a loud voice came out of many that were possessed by them; and many paralytic and lame persons were cured. And there was great joy in that city.
Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John: who when they were come down prayed for them that they might receive the holy Spirit: (for He was not yet fallen upon any of them, only they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus:) and then they laid their hands on them,read more.

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way, for he is the instrument I have chosen, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
For I speak to you Gentiles: inasmuch indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles,
that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, administring the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the holy Spirit.
Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to Him.
But some of them were Cyprians, and Cyrenians, who when they came to Antioch, discoursed with the Grecians also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers, as Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenean, and Manaen who had been educated with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul; and as they were ministring to the Lord, and fasting, the holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them. Then having fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them they sent them away.
being recommended to the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia confirming the churches.
