For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for to that all have sinned:
for as by man came death, by man cometh also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
Now the law made some entrance, that the offence might appear to abound; but where sin abounded, grace hath superabounded; that as sin had reigned in death,
What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid! Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust to be sinful, if the law had not said, "Thou shalt not covet." But sin taking occasion by the commandment wrought in me all manner of concupiscence: for without the law sin was dead. And I was heretofore alive without the law: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died:
What then availeth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come, to whom the promise was made; and it was delivered by angels in the hand of a mediator.
but I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without cause shall be liable to the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be obnoxious to the council; but whosoever shall say, "Thou fool," shall be in danger of hell-fire.
But the things, which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and those defile a man. For out of the heart proceed wicked disputings, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witnessings, slanders:
but I tell you, that of every idle word, which men shall speak, they shall give an account in the day of judgement; for by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Wherefore judge nothing before the time; even until the Lord come, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every one have praise from God.
in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that every one may receive for the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it were good or bad.
but he that knew it not, and did things deserving stripes, shall be beaten with few: for to whomsoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will demand the more.
And now, brethren, I know that ye did it through ignorance, as did also your rulers: but thus hath God accomplished those things which He had foretold by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out: that seasons of refreshing may come upon you from the presence of the Lord;
Inasmuch as from the first creation of the world, the invisible things of Him, even his eternal power and Godhead, are, if attended to, clearly seen in his works:
Wherefore though God overlooked the times of this ignorance, He now requireth all men every where to repent.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.
And they went forth, and preached that men should repent.
and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day; and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is already condemned; because he hath not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Then began He to upbraid the cities, in which most of his miracles were wrought; because they did not repent. Wo unto thee, Chorazin; wo unto thee, Bethsaida: for if the miracles wrought among you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes: therefore I tell you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgement, than for you.read more.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted even to heaven, shalt be cast down to hell: for if the miracles, which have been wrought in thee, had been wrought in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day. Moreover I tell you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgement, than for thee.
So that the men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgement against this generation, and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold a greater than Jonas is here. The queen of the South too, shall rise up in the day of judgement against this generation, and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold a greater than Solomon is here.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word, that I have spoken, will condemn him at the last day.
