hearken, Behold a sower went out to sow:

And He said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

And upon this occasion Jesus opened his mouth and said, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and knowing, and hast revealed them to babes: even so, Father, for it was thy good pleasure that so it should be." All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no one knoweth the Son, but the Father; nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son is pleased to reveal Him.

At this time Jesus was transported with joy in his spirit and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and knowing, and hast revealed them to babes: even so, Father, for such was thy good pleasure. All things are delivered to me by my Father: and none knoweth who the Son is, but the Father: and who the Father is, but the Son; and he to whom the Son pleaseth to reveal Him.

And the Father who sent me, hath Himself borne witness of me: and yet ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. And ye have not his word abiding in you; because ye believe not Him, whom He hath sent. Ye search the scriptures; for ye think that in them ye have eternal life:read more.
and they testify of me: and yet ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

No one can come to me, unless the Father, who hath sent me, draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, "And they shall all be taught of God." Every one therefore that hath heard and learned from the Father, cometh unto me.

Then the Jews came round Him, and said unto Him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou be the Messiah, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe me: though the works that I do in the name of my Father, testify of me. But ye believe not; because ye are not of my sheep: for as I said unto you, my sheep hear my voice,

But though He had done so many miracles before their eyes, yet they did not believe on Him: so that the word of Esaias the prophet was fulfilled, which he spake, saying, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? And therefore they could not believe; for Esaias had also said,read more.
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. These things said Esaias when he saw his glory, and spake concerning Him.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and dost thou not know me? Philip, he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how then dost thou say, Shew us the Father?

For the doctrine of the cross is to them, that perish, foolishness: but to us, who are saved, it is the power of God. For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputant of the age? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?read more.
For, since in the wisdom of God the world by it's wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by what they called the folly of preaching to save those that believe. And whereas the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks look for wisdom, we preach Christ crucified; to the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness; but to them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God, as they call it, is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

among whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, doth not shine unto them:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And he said unto them, To you it is granted to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but unto them that are without all things are delivered in parables: that in seeing they may see and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not understand, least they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.

for this reason I speak to them in parables; because though they see, they will not see; and though they hear, they will not hear, nor understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, Ye shall hear by the hearing of the ear, and not understand; and in seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: for the heart of this people is grown stupid, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; least they should see at all with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

And He said, To you it is granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but I speak to others in parables, that in seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

And why do ye not understand my language, but because ye cannot bear my doctrine? Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such. And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin?read more.
And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me? He, that is of God, receiveth the words of God; but ye therefore receive them not, because ye are not of God.

for unto this day the same veil remaineth unremoved in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ. But to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Though when it turneth unto the Lord, the veil is taken off:

And for this cause God will send upon them the efficacy of error, so that they shall themselves believe the lie: that they may all be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in iniquity. But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord; because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God; that we might know the things that are graciously bestowed upon us by God: which we also speak of, not in words dictated by human wisdom, but in those which are dictated by the holy Spirit; explaining spiritual things by spiritual words.

And Jesus replied and said unto him, Blessed art thou Simon son of Jonas, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily verily I tell thee, Unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, I tell thee of a truth, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.read more.
That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. Do not wonder that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. As the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound of it, but knowest not whence it cometh, or whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto Him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel and knowest not these things?

and He will give you another comforter to abide with you for ever: even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him, because He abideth with you, and shall be in you.

I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. But when the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that will He speak, and will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me, for He shall take of mine and shew it unto you.read more.
All that the Father hath are mine: therefore I said, that He shall take of mine and shew it unto you.

Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, attend to this: and if in any thing ye think differently, God will reveal this also unto you.

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to the knowledge of Him, and enlighten the eyes of your understanding; that ye may know, what is the hope of his calling, and how rich the glory of his inheritance in the saints;

And that servant, who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself to do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes; but he that knew it not, and did things deserving stripes, shall be beaten with few: for to whomsoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will demand the more.

And He answered them, saying, Because it is granted unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not granted: for whosoever really hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundantly; but whosoever thus hath not, even that which he hath, shall be taken away from him:

For as a man, who was going to travel abroad, called his servants, and delivered to them his stock: and to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability: and then he took his journey. Now he that had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and gained other five talents:read more.
and likewise he that had the two, he also gained two more: but he who had received the one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his master's money: and after some time the lord of those servants cometh and settleth his account with them. And he also who received the one talent came to him and said, Sir, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou sowedst not, and gathering where thou hast not strewed; and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the ground; behold, there is thine own: but his lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed; thou oughtest then to have put my money to the bankers, and when I came I should have received my own with interest. Take ye therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath the ten talents; (for to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound; but from him that hath not, even what he hath, or seemeth to have, shall be taken away:) and cast out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a distant country to receive the investiture of a kingdom and then to return. And he called ten of his servants, and delivered to them ten pounds, and said, Trade with them till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.read more.
And when he was returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to be called to him, to whom he had delivered the money, that he might know what use each had made of it. Then came the first and said, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said to him, Well done, thou good servant, as thou hast been faithful in a very little, thou shalt be governor over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath produced five pounds: and he said to this likewise, Be thou also over five cities. And another came, and said, Behold, my Lord, thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I was afraid of thee, because thou art an austere man, who takest up what thou didst not lay down, and reapest what thou didst not sow. But he said to him, Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant, Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow; and why then didst thou not put my money into the bank, that when I came I might have received it with interest? And he said to them that stood by, Take away the pound from him, and give it to him that hath the ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds already:) for I tell you, that to every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even what he seemingly hath shall be taken away. But those mine enemies, who would not have me to reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

For we see now as through a mirror obscurely: but then we shall see face to face. Now I know but in part, but then I shall know even as I am known.

Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober, and stedfastly hope for the grace to be conferred upon you at the appearing of Jesus Christ;

Beloved, we are now the children of God, but it doth not yet appear what we shall be: we know however, that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Spirit:

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out: that seasons of refreshing may come upon you from the presence of the Lord;

but declared first to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, and through all the country of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, and turn unto God, performing works suitable to repentance.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

So that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

bring up Christ from the dead)" but what saith it? "The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart." This is the word of faith which we preach: that if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart, that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

And my discourse, and my preaching was not with the persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power; that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

by whom we have received grace and apostleship to preach the obedience of faith for his name's sake, to all nations;

Asia, and Bithynia, chosen according to the fore-knowledge of God, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience, and to the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ,---may grace and peace be multiplied unto you.
