Now, then, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good; for to will is present with me; but to perform that which is good, I find not. I find, then, this law: That, when I wish to do good, evil is present with me. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body that subjects me to death? I thank God that I shall be delivered through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I my self, with the mind, serve the law of God, but with the flesh, the law of sin.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil: for our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the rulers of the darkness of this world, with the wicked spirits in the heavenly regions.read more.
Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand them in the evil day, and having overcome them all, to stand firm. Stand, therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and wearing the breastplate of righteousness, and having your feet shod with that preparation for defense supplied by the gospel of peace; taking up, over all, the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one: and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying with all prayer and supplication, at all times, in the Spirit; and to this end being watchful in all perseverance, and supplication for all the saints:
Be sober, be watchful: for your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. Being firm in the faith, resist him, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.
He himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. By his stripes you were healed.
What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? It can not be. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it? Know you not that as many of us as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into his death?read more.
Therefore, we are buried with him, by immersion, into death, that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in a new life. For if we have become united to him by the likeness of his death, we shall certainly be united to him by the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our former man has been crucified with him, in order that the sinful body may be deprived of its power, so that we should no longer serve sin: for he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
in whom you have been also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, when you were buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him by your faith in the energy of God, who raised him from the dead.
Whoever has been begotten of God does not work sin; because his seed remains in him: and he can not sin, because he has been begotten of God.
So, then, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Shun youthful desires, and follow righteousness, faithfulness, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may learn what the will of God is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect.
For those who are according to the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. Because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can it be.read more.
Those, then, who are in the flesh, can not please God.
I say this: Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the desire of the Spirit is against flesh; and these are opposed, the one to the other, so that you can not do what you would. Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry. And the tempter came to him and said: If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.read more.

And he ate nothing during those days; and when they were ended, he was afterward hungry. And the devil said to him: If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.read more.

And Jesus answered and said to him: It is said, You shall not put the Lord your God to the proof. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a time.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for every good work. #VALUE!
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One.
and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is, willing, but the flesh is weak.
No trial has come upon you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tried more than you are able to bear; but he will, with the trial, make a way to escape, so that you be able to bear up under it.
For we have not a high priest that can not sympathize with our infirmities; but he was tempted in all things like ourselves, yet without sin. Let us come, therefore, with boldness, to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in every time of need.
I speak of what is common among men, oil account of the weakness of your flesh: for as you have presented your members as servants to uncleanness, and to lawlessness, in order to lawlessness, so now present your members as servants to righteousness, in order to holiness.
but as he who has called you is holy, so be you holy in all your behavior: because it is written, Be you holy, for I am holy.
