Jehovah God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

Potiphar was pleased with him and made him his personal servant. He put him in charge of his house and everything he owned. Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's household and everything he had in his house and in his fields because of Joseph. Potiphar turned over everything he had to the care of Joseph. He did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Joseph was well built and good-looking.

It pleased Darius to appoint a hundred and twenty governors over the kingdom. They were to be located throughout the whole kingdom. Three commissioners were placed over them. Daniel was one of the commissioners. These governors were to give account to them so that the king would not suffer loss. Daniel was distinguished above the other commissioners and the governors because an excellent spirit (mind) was in him. Therefore the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

All priests must observe the regulations that I have given. Otherwise, they will become guilty and die, because they have disobeyed the sacred regulations. I am Jehovah and I make them holy.

Before they burned the fat the priest's servant came and said to the man who sacrificed: Give flesh to roast for the priest. For he will not have boiled flesh from you, but raw!

We will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. The idea pleased the whole congregation. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch, whom they set before the apostles. They just left the city and were not far off, when Joseph said to the man in charge of his house: Follow the men and when you overtake them, say to them: 'Why have you repaid evil for good? Is this the cup that my master drinks from and that he uses for telling the future? What you have done is evil!' When he caught up with them, he repeated these words to them. They answered him: What do you mean, Sir, by talking like this? We swear that we have done no such thing. You know that we brought back to you from the land of Canaan the money we found in the top of our sacks. Why should we steal silver or gold from your master's house? If you find that one of us has the cup, then kill him. The rest of us will become your slaves. Good! the man replied. I would do what you have said. But only the one who has the cup will become my slave. The rest of you can go free. Each of the brothers quickly put his sack on the ground and opened it. Joseph's servant started searching the sacks. They began with the one that belonged to the oldest brother. When he came to Benjamin's sack, he found the cup.

David started down the other side of the Mount of Olives. He met Ziba, the chief servant of Mephibosheth. Ziba had two donkeys that were carrying two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred clusters of raisins, a hundred figs, and some wine.

One thousand people from Benjamin were with him. Ziba the servant of Saul's family rushed to the Jordan River across from the king. Ziba brought his fifteen sons and twenty servants.

Jesus told his disciples: There was a rich man who had a servant who managed his property. The rich man learned that the manager was accused of wasting his master's money. He asked the first one: 'How much do you owe my master?' One hundred barrels of olive oil,' he said. 'Here is your bill,' he told him; 'settle for fifty.' He asked another: 'How much do you owe?' 'A thousand bushels of wheat,' he answered. 'Here is your bill. Pay eight hundred bushels.' The master of the dishonest manager praised him for doing a shrewd thing. People of this world are more astute at handling their affairs than people who belong to the light. Jesus continued: I tell you, make friends for yourselves with worldly wealth. That way when it gives out, you will be welcomed in the eternal home. Whoever is faithful in little things will be faithful in large ones. Whoever is unrighteous in small things will be unrighteous in large ones. If you have not been faithful in handling worldly wealth, how can you be trusted with true wealth? If you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what belongs to you?

It is like a man going to another country. He called his servants and put them in charge of his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one. He assigned according to the servants' ability. Then he went on his journey. Right away the servant who received the five talents traded with them and made another five talents.read more.
In like manner, he who received the two gained another two. He who received the one dug a hole in the ground and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants came back to settle with them. The servant who received five talents brought another five talents. He said: 'Lord, here are your five talents, plus the five I gained.' His lord said: 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, so I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' The one who received two talents said: 'Lord you gave me two talents and I gained another two talents.' His lord said: 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things. I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' The servant who received one talent said: 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man. You reap where you did not sow and gather where you did not scatter. I was afraid, so I hid your talent in the earth. See, you have what is yours.' But his lord answered: 'You wicked and lazy servant. You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter. You should have put my money in the bank. I should have received my money back plus interest. Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. More will be given to every one who has and he will have abundance. He who does not have will have every thing taken away. Throw the worthless servant into outer darkness. There will be crying and grinding of teeth.'

He said: A nobleman traveled to a country far away to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. He called ten of his servants and gave them ten pounds, and said do business with this until I return. His citizens hated him. They sent a spokesman to him saying we do not want this man to rule us.read more.
He received the kingdom and went back to check on his servants. He wanted to know what they had gained by trading with the money he gave them. The first reported: Your pound has made ten pounds more. He said: Well done, you good servant. You were faithful in very little. Now you shall have authority over ten cities. The second said: Your pound, Lord, has made five pounds. He replied: You should be over five cities. Another reported: Lord, here is your pound. I kept it stored in a napkin. I feared you because you are an austere man. You take up what you do not lay down and you reap that which you did not sow. He said to him: Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I am an austere man, taking up that which I did not lay down, and reaping that which I did not sow. Why did you not put my money in the bank? That way I could collect interest when I returned. The nobleman said: Take away the pound he was given and give it to him that has the ten pounds. They said: Lord he has ten pounds! I say to you, that every one who has more shall be given. The man who does not have what little he has shall be taken away from him. Bring my enemies that do not want me to rule over them and kill them in front of me.

He who did not know and did things unacceptable will receive a lesser punishment. To whom much is given, much will be required and to whom they commit much they will demand even more.

I tell you there will be an account in the Judgment Day for every careless word that men say.

So then every one of us will give account of himself to God.

They think it strange that you do not run with them in wild and reckless living and they speak evil about you. They will give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.

For they that have served well as servants gain to themselves a good standing and great confidence (boldness of speech) in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

When you keep a fig tree you eat the fruit. He who waits on his master will be honored.

People should regard us as servants of Christ. God has trusted us with his secrets. It is required of stewards that a man is trustworthy.

For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward. But if I do it against my will, I am just performing the trust of the good news committed to me.

God was reconciling the world to himself through Christ. He was not imputing their trespasses against them, for he had committed the word of reconciliation to us. We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ that you be reconciled to God. He made the one who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf. That way we might become the righteousness of God in him.

It pleased God to separate me even from my mother's womb and call me through his grace. He revealed his Son to me that I might preach him among the nations. I do not confer with flesh and blood (human beings).

On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the good news to people who are not circumcised. Just as Peter had been entrusted with the good news to the people who are circumcised.

We always speak, as God wants us to. He has judged us worthy to be entrusted with the Good News. We do not try to please people, but to please God, who tests our motives (examines our hearts).

Sound teaching (doctrine) is according to the good news of the glory of the blessed (happy) God. This was committed to my trust.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

O Timothy, guard that which is committed to you. Turn away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from opposition and from false knowledge.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. Keep (guard) (obey) (preserve) the good things that have been entrusted to you.

In his own time he made his word known through the message that was entrusted to me according to the commandment of God our Savior.

For who made you superior to (different than) another? What do you have that you did not receive? If you did receive it, why do you brag, as if you did not receive it?

According to the gift you have received, minister among yourselves, as good stewards of the increased grace (divine influence) (love) of God. If any man speaks, speak as it were utterances of God. If any man ministers, minister with the strength which God supplies! May God be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. The glory and dominion belong to God forever and ever. Amen.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. Be diligent and think about these things. Give yourself wholly to them. That way your progress may be apparent to all.

Flee from fornication! Every sin that a man does is outside his body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: hos he ho which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own. You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.

When you succeed do not brag: 'I am rich. I earned it all myself.' Remember that Jehovah your God gives you the strength to make a living. That is how he keeps the promise he made to your fathers.

Jesus then replied: If you wish to be complete, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor. You will have wealth in heaven. Then follow me!

Jesus lovingly looked at him and said: You lack one thing. Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.

When Jesus heard it he said to him, You lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.

Be careful! Do not display your righteousness (good works) before men to be noticed by them. If you do, you will have no reward with your heavenly Father. Do not loudly announce it when you give to the poor. The hypocrites do this in the houses of worship and on the streets. They do this to be praised by men. Believe me, they have already been paid in full. When you give gifts, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.read more.
Your giving will be in secret and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Give and it shall be given to you. You will receive a good measure. It will be pressed down, shaken together, running over and they will give it to you. For with the measure that you measure out it will be measured to you also.

He saw rich men putting their gifts into the treasury. Then he saw a poor widow putting in two small coins. I tell you a truth, he said: This poor widow gave more than all of them.read more.
They all gave out of their surplus but she gave out of her poverty. She gave all that she had for living expenses.

In all things I gave you an example. You by laboring should help the weak. Remember the words of the Lord Jesus: It is more blessed to give than to receive.

The congregation that believed was of one heart and mind. No one claimed his or her own possessions for everything was common property. The apostles witnessed about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power. Grace (God's loving kindness) was upon them all. There was no needy person among them for as many as possessed land or houses sold them, and brought the money from the things that were sold.read more.
They gave it to the apostles. Distribution was made to every man according as he had need.

We make known to you brothers the grace of God that has been given to the congregations of Macedonia. Out of severe affliction they have an abundance of joy and their deep poverty abounds in the riches of their generosity. For according to their ability, I bear witness, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord.read more.
They were very urgent in their concern for this grace and the fellowship in the ministering to the holy ones. This is not as we hoped. First they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God.

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will reap bountifully. Let each man do according as he has purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. God is able to make all grace abound toward you. You have plenty of everything you need and should abound in every good work.read more.
As it is written: He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor. His righteousness abides forever. The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. You will be made rich in everything. And you can be generous on every occasion. This will cause thanksgiving to God through us.
