When Jesus reached the place, he found that Lazarus had been four days in the tomb already.

The two began running together; but the other disciple ran faster than Peter, and reached the tomb first.

Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, went inside too, and he saw for himself and was convinced.

And I give them Immortal Life, and they shall not be lost; nor shall any one snatch them out of my hands.

What my Father has entrusted to me is more than all else; and no one can snatch anything out of the Father's hands.

"In truth I tell you," he continued, "when you were young, you used to put on your own girdle, and walk wherever you wished; but, when you have grown old, you will have to stretch out your hands, while some one else puts on your girdle, and takes you where you do not wish."
