And hearing that he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, they all the more kept silence. And he said,

And I said, Lord, they know that I was imprisoning and beating those who believed on You throughout the synagogues.
And He said to me, Go, for I will send you far away to the nations.
And as they stretched him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?
And coming up the chiliarch said to him, Tell me, are you a Roman? And He said, Yes.
And the chiliarch answered, With a great sum I bought this citizenship. And Paul said, But I was even born free.
And looking earnestly on the sanhedrin, Paul said, Men, brothers, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
Then Paul said to him, God shall strike you, whitened wall! For do you sit judging me according to the Law, and against law command me to be stricken?
And they who stood by him said, Do you revile God's high priest?
Then Paul said, I did not know, brothers, that he was the high priest; for it is written, "You shall not speak evil of the ruler of your people."
And when he had said this, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the multitude was divided.
And the following night the Lord stood by him and said, Be of good cheer, Paul, for as you have testified of Me in Jerusalem, so you also must bear witness at Rome.
And they came to the chief priests and elders and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.
And calling one of the centurions, Paul said, Bring this young man to the chiliarch, for he has a certain thing to tell him.
So he took him and brought him to the chiliarch and said, Paul the prisoner called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, who has something to say to you.
And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the sanhedrin tomorrow, as though they would inquire something more exactly about him.
he said, I will hear you when your accusers have also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's Praetorium.
Then he said, those having power among you may go down with me. If there is a thing amiss in this man, let them accuse him.
Defending himself, Paul said, Neither against the Law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything.
But Festus, wanting to please the Jews, answered Paul and said, Will you go up to Jerusalem and be judged there before me about these things?
But Paul said, I stand at Caesar's judgment seat, where I ought to be judged. I have done no wrong to the Jews, as you very well know.
And Agrippa said to Festus, I also would like to hear the man myself. And he said, Tomorrow you shall hear him.
And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all those men present with us, you see this one about whom all the multitude of the Jews pleaded with me, both at Jerusalem and here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.
And Agrippa said to Paul, You are permitted to speak for yourself. Then stretching out his hand, Paul made a defense:
And I said, Who are you, lord? And He said, I am Jesus whom you persecute.
Then having obtained help from God, I stand until this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said was going to happen;
And he defending himself with these things, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, you rave! Your many letters turn you to insanity.
But he said, Not to insanity, most noble Festus, but I speak words of truth and sanity.
And Agrippa said to Paul, Do you persuade me to be a Christian in but a little?
And Paul said, I would pray to God, both in a little and in much, that not only you, but also all hearing me today to become as I also am, except for these bonds.
And Agrippa said to Festus, This man might have been set at liberty if he had not appealed to Caesar.
But there being much fasting, then standing up in their midst, Paul said, O men, being obedient to me you ought not to have set sail from Crete, and to have come by this harm and loss.
Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Unless these remain in the ship, you cannot be saved.
And when the foreigners saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, being saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed to live.
But they expected him to be about to become inflamed, or to fall down dead suddenly, But over much time expecting and seeing nothing amiss happening to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.
And after three days it happened that Paul called together those being chief of the Jews. And they coming together, he said to them, Men, brothers, I did nothing against the people or customs of our fathers. I was delivered a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans
And they said to him, We neither received letters out of Judea concerning you, nor have any of the brothers who came declared or spoke anything evil of you.
And some indeed believed the things that were said, others did not believe.
And he having said these words, the Jews departed, having much discussion amongst themselves.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be said! But I did not know sin except through the law. For also I did not know lust except the law said, You shall not lust.
it was said to her, "The elder shall serve the younger."
For He said to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them. "You are not My people; there they shall be called sons of the living God."
And as Isaiah said before, "Unless the Lord of hosts had left us a seed, we would have been as Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah."
I say then, Did not God put away His people? Let it not be said! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God did not thrust out His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture said in Elijah, how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,
And David said, "Let their table become for a snare and a trap and a stumbling block and a recompense to them.
but as it is written, "To whom nothing was said about Him, they shall see. And they who have not heard shall understand."
And giving thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of Me."
So also you, if you do not give a clear word through the language, how will it be known what is being said? For you will be speaking into the air.
For it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine;" who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
I do not speak this to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts for us to die together, and to live together.
Yet I sent the brothers, lest our boasting (which is on your behalf) should not be in vain, that, as I said, you may be ready.
And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me.
As we said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.
But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, If you, being a Jew, live as a Gentile, and not as the Jews, why do you compel the nations to judaize?
But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we also were found to be sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Let it not be said!
Is the Law then against the promises of God? Let it not be said! For if a law had been given which could have given life, indeed righteousness would have been out of Law.

And he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God.
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See, do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
And He sitting on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.
And He said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who thirsts I will give of the fountain of the Water of Life freely.
And he said to me, These sayings are faithful and true. And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show to His servants the things which must shortly be done.
Then he said to me, Behold! See, do not do it! For I am your fellow-servant, and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the Words of this Book. Do worship to God.
And he said to me, Do not seal the Words of the prophecy of this Book; for the time is at hand.
