For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office; so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another. And, having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us; whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; read more.
or ministry, let us labor in the ministry; or he that teaches, in teaching; or he that exhorts, in his exhortation; he that imparts, let him do it with liberality; he that presides, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I, then, taking away the members of Christ, make them members of a harlot? It could not be! Or know ye not that he who is united to the harlot is one body? For, "the two", He saith, "shall be one flesh"; but he who is united to the Lord is one spirit.

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a partaking of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a partaking of the body of Christ? because we, the many, are one bread, one body; for we all partake of the one bread.

For, as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is the Christ; for, indeed, in one Spirit were we all immersed into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body also is not one member, but many. read more.
If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body"; it is not, therefore, not of the body. And, if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body"; it is not, therefore, not of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole body were hearing, where were the smelling? But, as it is, God did set the members, each one of them in the body, even as He willed. And, if they were all one member, where were the body? But now they are many members, but one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." But much more the members of the body which seem to be more feeble, are necessary; and those members which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness; but our comely parts have no need. But God attempered the body, giving the more abundant honor to that which lacked; that there might be no schism in the body, but that the members might have the same care, one for another. And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are Christ's body, and severally members thereof. And God, indeed, set some in the assembly: first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; after that, miracles; then, gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But desire earnestly the greater gifts; and a still more excellent way I show you.

and what the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of the strength of His might, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the Heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that to come; read more.
and He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as Head over all things to the assembly, which, indeed, is His body, the fulness of Him Who is filling all in all.

I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord exhort you to walk worthily of the calling with which ye were called, with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love; earnestly endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. read more.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one immersion, one God and Father of all, Who is over all, and through all, and in all. But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore, He saith, "Having ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." Now the word, "He ascended," what does it mean, but that He also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He Who descended is Himself also the One Who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things. And He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man??o the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; that we may no longer be babes, billow-tossed, and carried about with every wind of teaching, in the sleight of men, in the craftiness suited to the artifice of error; but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, Who is the Head, Christ; from Whom all the body, fitly framed and knit together through every joint of supply, according to the working in due measure of each single part, secures the growth of the body to the upbuilding of itself in love.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the assembly, and delivered Himself up for it, that He might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of the water in the word, that He might present to Himself the assembly, glorious, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and without blemish. So ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as also Christ the assembly; because we are members of His body. For this cause, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless, do ye also, severally, each one, so love his own wife, as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman. Every branch in Me that bears not fruit, He taketh it away: and every one that bears fruit, He cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit. Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
