Where do the wars and disputes come from among you? From here that is to say, of your lusts which fight in your members? Ye covet and have not; ye murder, and have envy and cannot obtain; ye fight and war and have not that which ye desire because ye ask not.


Even more than he who is given over to wine, the transposer, the proud man, shall not remain, who enlarges his desire as Sheol and is as death and cannot be satisfied, but gathered unto him all the Gentiles and heaps unto him all the peoples;


And the vulgar who were mixed in among them returned to their lust; and even the sons of Israel wept and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbour finds no favour in his eyes.

The horseleach has two daughters, which are called, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:


Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted.

But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.


They are all hot as an oven and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen; there is no one among them that calls unto me.
