'Curse Meroz,' said the angel of Yahweh. 'Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they didn't come to help Yahweh, to help Yahweh against the mighty.'
Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.
They said, "What one is there of the tribes of Israel who didn't come up to Yahweh to Mizpah?" Behold, there came none to the camp from Jabesh Gilead to the assembly.
Next to them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles didn't put their necks to the work of their lord.
For they have not served you in their kingdom, and in your great goodness that you gave them, and in the large and rich land which you gave before them, neither did they turn from their wicked works.
You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
That servant, who knew his lord's will, and didn't prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,
What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?
To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn't do it, to him it is sin.

But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm."

I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible.
For, behold, Yahweh comes forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.

For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
