For every one of God's promises are "Yes" in him; therefore also through him the "Amen" is spoken, to the glory we give to God.

When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.

The oppressed and the poor look for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched from thirst. I, the Lord, will respond to their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them.

In fact, what other great nation has a god so near to them like the Lord our God whenever we call on him?

"And you, Solomon my son, obey the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, for the Lord examines all minds and understands every motive of one's thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

But if you will look to God, and make your supplication to the Almighty,

I am a laughingstock to my friends, I, who called on God and whom he answered -- a righteous and blameless man is a laughingstock!

You will pray to him and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him.

He entreats God, and God delights in him, he sees God's face with rejoicing, and God restores to him his righteousness.

Your loyal followers trust in you, for you, Lord, do not abandon those who seek your help.

Lord, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was delivered from my enemies.

For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them.

The Lord pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help.

Then you will take delight in the Lord, and he will answer your prayers.

The Lord says this to the family of Israel: "Seek me so you can live! Do not seek Bethel! Do not visit Gilgal! Do not journey down to Beer Sheba! For the people of Gilgal will certainly be carried into exile; and Bethel will become a place where disaster abounds." Seek the Lord so you can live! Otherwise he will break out like fire against Joseph's family; the fire will consume and no one will be able to quench it and save Bethel.

Seek the Lord's favor, all you humble people of the land who have obeyed his commands! Strive to do what is right! Strive to be humble! Maybe you will be protected on the day of the Lord's angry judgment.

Ask the Lord for rain in the season of the late spring rains -- the Lord who causes thunderstorms -- and he will give everyone showers of rain and green growth in the field.

"Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Again, I tell you the truth, if two of you on earth agree about whatever you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive."

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says! Won't God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Jesus answered her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you, 'Give me some water to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

We know that God doesn't listen to sinners, but if anyone is devout and does his will, God listens to him.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

At that time you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.'

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.

For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him.

so that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think,

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,

Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.

So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.
