Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil lust, and covetousness, which is idolatry;

For the will of God is your sanctification, that ye should separate yourselves from fornication,

but that we write unto them that they abstain from pollutions of idols and from fornication and from things strangled and from blood.

Do not give thy strength nor thy ways unto the women who destroy kings.

having their eyes full of adultery, and not knowing how to cease from sin, baiting unstable souls, having their heart exercised in covetous practices; cursed sons,

who, after losing all sense of feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness.

being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

In the same manner these deceived dreamers, defile their flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of higher powers.

The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

For the lips of the strange woman drop as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil, But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps uphold Sheol, read more.
lest thou should ponder the path of life, her ways are unstable; thou shalt not know them. Hear me now therefore, O ye sons, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way far from her, and do not come near the door of her house, lest thou give thine honour unto others and thy years unto the cruel, lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and thy labours be in the house of a stranger, and thou mourn at the last when thy flesh and thy body are consumed

Let not thine heart decline to her ways; do not go astray in her paths. For she has caused many to fall down dead; yea, all the strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

Foods are for the belly, and the belly for foods; but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them the members of a harlot? In no wise. What? know ye not that he who is joined to the harlot is one body with her? For they shall be, saith he, two in one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. read more.
Flee fornication. Any other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and that ye are not your own?

For God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto sanctification.

When wisdom enters into thine heart and knowledge is sweet unto thy soul, discretion shall preserve thee, intelligence shall keep thee

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister, and call understanding thy kinswoman: That they may keep thee from the woman belonging to someone else, from the stranger who flatters with her words.

For it should suffice us that during the time past of our life we had done the will of the Gentiles, when we conversed in lasciviousness, lusts, drunkenness, gluttony, orgies, and abominable idolatries.

But now I have written unto you not to associate with anyone calling himself a brother if he is a fornicator or covetous or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner; with such a one do not even eat.

I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a maid?

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God shall destroy that one; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; which I denounce, as I have also told you in time past that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do not look upon the wine when it is red, when it gives its colour in the cup, it goes down smoothly. At the last it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

and I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands are bonds; whosoever pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be held prisoner in her.

And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand; there is none greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back anything from me but thee because thou art his wife; how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? read more.
And it came to pass as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not hearken unto her, to lie by her or to be with her.

And it came to pass one evening, that David arose from off his bed and walked upon the roof of the king's house, and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself, and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah, the Hittite? And David sent messengers and took her, and she came in unto him, and he lay with her. Then she purified herself from her uncleanness, and she returned unto her house.

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becomes saints,

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eyes.

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that also those who do not obey the Word, may be won without a word by the conversation of their wives, considering your chaste conversation which is in fear.

And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter, for thou hast shown more mercy in the end than at the first, not going after the young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do unto thee all that thou hast said, for all the city of my people know that thou art a valiant woman.

And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business, and none of those of the house were there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me; and he left his garment in her hand and fled and got outside. And it came to pass when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled forth, that she called unto those of her house and spoke unto them, saying, See, he has brought in a Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice; and it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me and fled and left. And she laid up his garment by her until his lord came home. And she spoke unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew slave, whom thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to dishonour me; and when I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment with me and fled out. And it came to pass when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke unto him, saying, After this manner did thy slave treat me, that his wrath was kindled. And Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound; and he was there in the prison.

Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning that if he will redeem thee, well, let him redeem thee, but if he does not wish to redeem, then I will redeem thee, as the LORD lives; lie down until the morning.

And she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law had commanded her. And when Boaz had eaten and drunk and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap, and she came softly and uncovered his feet and lay down. And it came to pass at midnight that the man was startled and took hold, and, behold, a woman lay at his feet. read more.
Then he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth, thy handmaid; spread therefore the edge of thy mantle over thy handmaid; for thou art a redeemer. And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter, for thou hast shown more mercy in the end than at the first, not going after the young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do unto thee all that thou hast said, for all the city of my people know that thou art a valiant woman. And now it is true that I am thy redeemer; however, there is another redeemer nearer than I (in kinship). Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning that if he will redeem thee, well, let him redeem thee, but if he does not wish to redeem, then I will redeem thee, as the LORD lives; lie down until the morning.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

but I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

These are those who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These are redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
