And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him, Rise up, make us gods which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him. Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go, descend; for thy people, which thou didst bring out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molten calf and have worshipped it and have sacrificed unto it and said, These are thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Do not return unto idols nor make to yourselves molten gods. I AM your God.
Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.

If my heart has been deceived regarding a woman, or if I have laid in wait at my neighbour's door, then let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down upon her. For this is lewdness and iniquity that is proven.read more.
For it is a fire that consumes unto hell and would root out all my increase.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? No, in no wise. But, I did not know sin except by the law; for neither would I have known lust if the law did not say, Thou shalt not covet.
Then the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount and wait there, and I will give thee tables of stone and the law and commandments which I have written to teach them.
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, the ten words; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
When I climbed up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, without eating bread or drinking water; and the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God, and on them was written according to all the words which the LORD spoke with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
And it came to pass as soon as he came near unto the camp and he saw the calf and the dances, anger caused Moses to wax hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mount.
and I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your God and had made yourselves a molten calf; ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you. Then I took the two tables and cast them out of my two hands and broke them before your eyes.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew two tables of stone like unto the first; and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou didst break.
At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first and come up unto me into the mount and make thee an ark of wood, and I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou didst brake, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
And he took and put the testimony into the ark and set the staves on the ark and put the seat of reconciliation upon the ark above,
The LORD spoke with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire
And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.
And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten words which the LORD spoke unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them unto me.
For we now know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold unto subjection by sin.
