She hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Ye have the poor always with you: but me ye have not always.

And that ye study to be quiet and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you;

For when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.

Yea, you yourselves know, that these hands have ministred to my necessities, and to them that were with me.

But give what is in them in alms, and behold all things are clean to you.

But when thou makest an entertainment, invite the poor,

Let not a widow be chosen under threescore years old, having been the wife of one husband, Well reported of for good works, if she hath brought up children, if she hath lodged strangers, if she hath washed the feet of the saints, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.

Can that faith save him? If a brother or a sister be naked, and want daily food, And one of you say to them, Depart in peace; be ye warmed and filled, but give them not the things needful for the body, what doth it profit?
