1 Corinthians 1:18-25

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Where [is] the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? read more.
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to those on the one hand an odor from death to death, [and] to those on the other hand a fragrance from life to life. And who [is] qualified for these [things]? For we are not like the majority who peddle the word of God, but as from pure motives--but as from God--we speak before God in Christ.

As we said before, and now I say again, if anyone is proclaiming a gospel [to] you contrary to what you have received, let him be accursed! For am I now making an appeal to people or [to] God? Or am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ.

Evangelism » What preachers should not do

Romans 2:21-24

Therefore, the one who teaches someone else, do you not teach yourself? The one who preaches not to steal, do you steal? The one who says not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery?
