But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent; he said and shall he not do it? He spoke and shall he not execute it?

But our God is in the heavens; he has made whatever he has desired.

The LORD has made all things by himself, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Even before the day was I existed; and there is no one that can deliver out of my hand; if I work, who shall hinder it?

And Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Shall See (YHWH-jireh). Therefore it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the LORD thy Healer.

And Moses built an altar and called the name of it The LORD is my Banner,

O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall be prospered in that for which I sent it.

And God said, Let there be light, and there was light.

Then he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones hear the word of the LORD.

Thou, O LORD, art alone; thou hast made the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are therein, the seas and all that is therein, and thou givest life to them all; and the host of the heavens worship thee.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

This is the book of the descendants of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God; male and female created he them and blessed them and called their name Man, in the day when they were created.

Of old thou hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

For, behold, he that forms the mountains and creates the wind and declares unto man what is his thought, that makes the darkness into morning and treads above the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of the hosts, is his name.

The God that made the world and all the things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and virtue; for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they have their being and were created.

The LORD has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

Thou art he who sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the mountains. They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst. Next to them the fowls of the heavens have their habitation; they sing among the leaves.read more.
He waters the mountains from his chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. He causes the hay to grow for the cattle and grass for the service of man, that he may bring forth bread out of the earth and wine that makes glad the heart of man, making his face to shine with oil and bread which sustains man's heart. The trees of the LORD are satisfied; the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted, that the birds may make their nests there: the stork makes her house among the fir trees.

He turned rivers into a wilderness and the watersprings into dry ground; the fruitful land into salt flats, because of the wickedness of those that dwell therein. He turns the wilderness into reservoirs of water and dry ground into watersprings.

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Nevertheless he did not leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

in him in whom likewise we have obtained an inheritance, having had the way marked out beforehand according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will,

for by him were all things created, that are in the heavens and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and in him; And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

By the breath of God ice is given; and the broad waters are constrained.

Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow, and hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? By what way is the light divided; from where is the east wind scattered upon the earth?read more.
Who has divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters or a way for the lightning of thunder, to cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man; to satisfy the desolate and waste ground and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of the dew? Out of whose womb came the ice, and the hoary frost of heaven, who has begotten it? The waters harden as stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

For he commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.

Who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares the rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.

that ye may be sons of your Father who is in the heavens, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth the signs of the heavens in their season, or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Dost thou know the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou use its power in the earth?

He appointed the moon for times and seasons; the sun knows his going down.

He counts the number of the stars and calls them all by their names.

Lift up your eyes on high and behold who has created these things; he brings out his host by number; he calls them all by their names; none shall be lacking by the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.

Knowest thou the time when the mountain goats bring forth? Hast thou observed when the hinds calve? Canst thou number the months that they fulfil, and knowest thou the time when they bring forth? How they crouch down, they bring forth their young ones, and dismiss their pain.read more.
Their young ones are healthy, they grow up with grain; they go forth and never return unto them again. Who freed the wild ass, and who loosed its bands? Unto whom I made a house in the wilderness, and his dwellings in the salty land. He laughs at the multitude of the city, neither does he hearken to the voice of the exactor of tribute. The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing. Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee or abide by thy crib? Who leaves her eggs in the earth and warms them in dust and forgets that the foot may crush them or that the wild beast may break them. She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers, not fearing that her labour is in vain, because God caused her to forget wisdom and did not give her understanding. In her time she lifts up herself on high; she scorns the horse and his rider. Hast thou given the horse strength? Hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? Canst thou make him leap as a grasshopper? The glory of his nostrils is formidable. He paws at the earth and rejoices in his strength; he goes forth to meet the armed men. He mocks fear and is not afraid; neither does he turn his face from the sword. The quiver rattles against him, the glittering spear and the shield. He swallows the ground with fierceness and rage; the sound of the shofar does not trouble him; for the blasts of the shofar fill him with courage; he smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the princes and the sound of the battle-cry. Does the hawk fly by thy industry and stretch her wings toward the south? Does the eagle mount up at thy command and make her nest on high? She dwells and abides on the rock upon the crag of the rock and the strong place. From there she seeks food, and her eyes behold afar off. Her young ones suck up the blood; and wherever the slain are, there she is.

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eats grass as an ox. Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moves his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.read more.
His bones are as strong as brass; his members are like bars of iron. He is the beginning of the ways of God; he that made him shall make his sword draw near unto him. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He shall lie down under the shade, in the covert of the reeds and of the damp places. Canst thou draw out leviathan with a hook or with the cord which thou lettest down on his tongue? Canst thou put a hook into his nose or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? Will he speak soft words unto thee?read more.
Will he make a covenant with thee that thou shall take him for a slave for ever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird, or wilt thou tie him up for thy maidens? Shall the companions make a banquet of him? Shall they part him among the merchants? Canst thou cut his skin with knives or his head with a fish spear? Lay thine hand upon him; thou shalt remember the battle and do no more. Behold, your hope regarding him shall fail; for even at the sight of him they shall faint. No one is so bold as to dare stir him up; who then shall be able to stand before me? Who has preceded me, that I should repay him? All that is under the whole heaven is mine.

Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest move. The young lions roar after their prey and seek their food from God. The sun arises, they withdraw and lay themselves down in their dens.read more.
Man goes forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom thou hast made them all; the earth is full of thy riches. So is this great and wide sea, wherein are innumerable creeping things, both small and great beasts. There go the ships; there is that leviathan, whom thou didst make to play therein. These wait all upon thee, that thou may give them their food in due season.

He who gives the beast his food and to the sons of the ravens which cry unto him.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

Therefore say unto the sons of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will free you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm and with great judgments. And I will take you as my people, and I will be your God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I raised my hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it unto you for a heritage: I am the LORD.

But the LORD had said unto Abram, Depart out of thy country and from thy nature and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee; and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless those that bless thee and curse those that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will give ear to hearken unto my voice and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a special treasure unto me above all peoples; for all the earth is mine.read more.
And ye shall be my kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel.

Ask, therefore, now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other whether there has been any such thing as this great thing is, or has any other been heard like it? Have a people ever heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and lived? Or has God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs and by wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

Look unto Abraham your father and unto Sarah that bore you; for I called him alone and blessed him and multiplied him.

I passed by thee and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, and I said unto thee, In thy blood thou shalt live; yea, I said unto thee, In thy blood thou shalt live. In ten thousands, as the grass of the field, have I placed thee, and thou wast increased and made great, and thou art come to be adorned with excellent ornaments; thy breasts were fashioned, and thy hair is grown; but thou wast naked and bare.

When Israel was a boy, I loved him and called my son out of Egypt. As they called them, so they went from them; they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images. Even with all this I guided the feet of this same Ephraim, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I cared for them.read more.
I drew them with human cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those that raise the yoke from upon their cheeks, and I fed them.

Have we not all one father? has not one God created us? why do we despise each man his brother by breaking the covenant of our fathers?

Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?

For in what shall it be known here that I have found grace in thy sight, I and thy people, but in that thou goest with us, and I and thy people will be separated from all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth? And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken because thou hast found grace in my sight, and I have known thee by name.

In all the places in which I have walked with all the sons of Israel did I speak a word in any of the tribes of Israel, unto whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why did ye not build me a house of cedar? Now, therefore, so shalt thou say unto my slave David, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel; and I have been with thee wherever thou didst walk and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.read more.
Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, that they may dwell in their place and never again be removed; neither shall the sons of iniquity afflict them any more as before, since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. And I will cause thee to rest from all thy enemies. Likewise, the LORD makes thee to know that he will make thee a house.

Then fire of the LORD fell, which consumed the burnt sacrifice and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench.

The LORD is the strength of his people, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people and bless thine inheritance; feed them also and lift them up for ever.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy and gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor; and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the princes of the people and disjoint them before the LORD hanging them from a tree against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

If one man sins against another, the judges shall judge him, but if someone sins against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they did not hearken unto the voice of their father because the LORD had already decided to kill them.

Now, therefore, stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes. Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great which ye have done in the sight of the LORD in asking for a king over you. So Samuel called unto the LORD, and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day, and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

Then there was a famine in the days of David for three consecutive years, and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is because of Saul and because of his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned in its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men and go out, fight with Amalek; tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.read more.
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; but when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. And Moses' hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side and the other on the other side; thus his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua disabled Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in the book and tell Joshua that I must utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar and called the name of it The LORD is my Banner, for he said, Because Amalek lifted his hand against the throne of the LORD, the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

And when King Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt toward the Negev, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the sentinels; then he fought against Israel and took some of them prisoners. Then Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanite; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities, and he called the name of the place Hormah.

But the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given Jericho and its king into thy hand, with its mighty men of valour.

and the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hands of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword and all the souls that were therein; he let no one remain in it, but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise and descend to the camp, for I have delivered it in thy hands.

And all this congregation shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear, for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands.

And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set the sons of Moab and those of Mount Seir to ambush the sons of Ammon, who were coming against Judah; and they smote one another. And the sons of Ammon and Moab rose up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them; and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, each one helped his companion to kill himself.

Now, therefore, so shalt thou say unto my slave David, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel; and I have been with thee wherever thou didst walk and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Yet he sent prophets to them to bring them again unto the LORD, and they testified against them, but they would not give ear.

since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day. I have even sent unto you all my slaves, the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them;

Are these not the words which the LORD has published by the former prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and quiet and the cities thereof round about her and when the south and the plain were inhabited?

For the kingdom is the LORD's, and he shall have dominion over the Gentiles.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth, and they left off to build the city.

when the most High caused the Gentiles to be inherited, when he separated the sons of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he said, Because these people transgress my covenant which I commanded their fathers and do not hearken unto my voice; neither will I drive out any longer from before them any of these Gentiles which Joshua left when he died, that through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD by walking therein as their fathers kept it, or not.read more.
Therefore, the LORD left those Gentiles, without driving them out hastily; neither did he deliver them into the hand of Joshua.

He multiplies the Gentiles and destroys them; he scatters the Gentiles and gathers them again.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he has made in the earth. He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and cuts the spear in sunder; he burns the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted in the Gentiles, I will be exalted in the earth.

He rules by his power for ever; his eyes watch the Gentiles; the rebellious shall not exalt themselves. Selah.

Who raised up righteousness from the east, called him that he might follow him, gave the Gentiles before him, and made him rule over kings? He gave them as the dust to his sword and as driven stubble to his bow.

and has made of one blood all the lineage of men to dwell on all the face of the earth and has determined the seasons (which he has limited) and the bounds of their habitation;
