For these precepts, although they have a show of wisdom with their self-imposed devotions and fastings and bodily austerities, are of no real value against the indulgence of the carnal appetites.

Do not neglect to show hospitality; for by it some have even entertained angels unawares.

in like manner also the women. I desire women to clothe themselves in suitable apparel, adorning themselves with reverence and self-restraint; not with hair plaited with gold or pearls, or with expensive clothes, but (as becomes women proclaiming godliness) with the ornament of good deeds.
