Elijah was a man with feelings just like ours, and yet he earnestly prayed for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. Then again he prayed, and the heavens yielded rain and the earth produced its crops.

There came to Him a leper, begging Him on his knees, saying to Him, "If you want to, you can cure me." And His heart was moved with pity for him, so He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do want to! Be cured!" And the leprosy at once left him, and he was cured.
Now while He was in one of the towns, a man covered with leprosy saw Jesus and fell on his face and begged Him, saying, "Lord, if you choose to, you can cure me." So He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, "I do choose to; be cured." And at once the leprosy left him.
Then Peter put them all out of the room, knelt down and prayed, and, turning to the body, said, "Tabitha, get up!" Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
So Peter was being kept in prison, but earnest prayer to God for him was persistently made by the church. Now just as Herod was going to bring him out, that is, the very night before, Peter was fastened with two chains and was sleeping between two soldiers, and the guards were at the door guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in his cell, and by striking Peter on the side the angel woke him, and said, "Get up quickly!" At once the chains fell off his hands.read more.
Then the angel said to him, "Tighten your belt and put on your shoes? He did so. Then the angel said to him, "Put on your coat and follow me!"
