I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God

But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Likewise you that are younger men be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

And he answered, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind'; and 'your neighbor as yourself.'" Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothing, beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment will be without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Then Peter came to him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven. And as he was not able to pay, his master ordered that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees before him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' The master of that servant took pity on him, released him, and forgave him the debt. But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe.' So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you back.' But he refused, and went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and went and told their master all that had happened. Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?' And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. So also my heavenly Father will do to each of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."

"Judge not, and you will not be judged. Condemn not, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."

so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord forgave you, so you also must forgive.

Let brotherly love continue.

Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'read more.
And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.'

Let love be genuine. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; outdo one another in showing honor. Never be lacking in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.read more.
Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be faithful in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited. Repay no one evil for evil, but have regard for what is noble in the sight of all. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord. No, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will continue to do the things which we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

Now, brethren, we want you to know about the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia,

For the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a fleshly point of view; even though we once regarded Christ from a fleshly point of view, we regard him thus no longer.read more.
Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
