And Joseph went up to bury his father, and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen. And it was a very great company.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people who were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David followed the bier.

Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, an only begotten son who died was being carried out for his mother. And she was a widow, and a considerable crowd of the city were with her.

And one of his disciples whom Jesus loved was sitting at Jesus' bosom.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Jesus wept. The Jews therefore said, Behold how he loved him.

I no longer call you bondmen, because the bondman does not know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, because all things that I heard from my Father, I made known to you.

For it was not an enemy who reproached me. Then I could have borne it. Neither was it he who hated me that magnified himself against me. Then I would have hid myself from him. But it was thou, a man my equal, my companion, and my familiar friend. We took sweet counsel together. We walked in the house of God with the throng.

Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Thou have put my acquaintances far from me. Thou have made me an abomination to them. I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Thou have put beloved and friend far from me, and my acquaintances into darkness.

I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as he who bewails his mother. But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. And he broke them off his arms like a thread. And Delilah said to Samson, Until now thou have mocked me, and told me lies. Tell me with what thou might be bound. And he awoke out of his sleep, and plucked away the pin of the beam, and the web. And she said to him, How can thou say, I love thee, when thy heart is not with me? Thou have mocked me these three times, and have not told me with what thy great strength lays. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was vexed to death. And he told her all his heart, and said to her, There has not come a razor upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb.
