Because every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, when it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.

Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;

because in one hour so great wealth was made desolate!' And every ship-master, and every one sailing to any place, and mariners, and as many as do business at sea, stood afar off; and they cried out, when beholding the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What city is like the great city?' And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all who have ships in the sea became rich by reason of her costliness! because in one hour she was made desolate. Rejoice over her, O Heaven, and ye saints, and ye apostles, and ye prophets; because God judged your judgment on her.'
And the world is passing away, and the desire thereof; but be that does the will of God abides forever.
And one out of the multitude said to Him, "Teacher, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me." But He said to him, "Man, who appointed Me a judge or a divider over you?" And He said to them, "Take heed, and guard yourselves from all covetousness; because one's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses."read more.
And He spake a parable to them, saying, "A certain rich man's field yielded bountifully; and he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, because I have not where to store my fruits?' And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Senseless one! this night they require your soul of you; and the things you prepared, whose shall they be?' But godliness with contentment is a great source of gain; for nothing have we brought into the world, neither can we carry anything out; but, having food and raiment, with these we shall be content.
