Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, through the mercies of God, to present, your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your rational service;
and they did this not as we hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God;
Now I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruit of Achaia, and that they appointed themselves for ministry to the saints),
I speak after human fashion because of the weakness of your flesh; for, as ye presented your members subservient to uncleanness, and to iniquity unto iniquity; so now present your members subservient to righteousness unto holiness.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, become steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
but we will devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and to the ministry of the word."
For God is my witness, Whom I serve in my spirit in the Gospel of His Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,
Attend to these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your progress may be manifest to all.
"So, therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all his own goods, cannot be My disciple.
"If any one comes to Me, and hates not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and, further, his own soul also, he cannot be My disciple.
Let each one of us please his neighbor in that which is good for his edification;
Wherefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will in no wise eat flesh forevermore; that I cause not my brother to stumble.
even as I also, in all things, please all men: not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.
And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I to be loved the less?
Nay, more, I even account all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I suffered the loss of all things, and account them refuse, that I may gain Christ.
But I make not my soul of any value as dear to myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify the Gospel of the grace of God.
Then Paul answered, "What are ye doing, weeping and crushing my heart? For I am ready, not only to be bound, but to die at Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus."
and they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul, even to death.
"He that finds his life shall lose it; and he that loses his life for My sake shall find it.
Then Peter, answering, said to Him, "Behold, we left all, and followed Thee; what, then, shall we have?" And Jesus said to them, "Verily I say to you, that ye who followed Me, in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit upon the throne of His glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive manifold more and shall inherit eternal life.
Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we left all, and followed Thee." Jesus said, "Verily I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for My sake and the Gospel's sake, but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
And Peter said, "Behold, having left our possessions, we followed Thee." And He said to them, "Verily I say to you there is no one who left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the Kingdom of God, who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the coming age eternal life."
For whosoever would save his soul shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his soul for My sake and the Gospel's, shall save it.
Whosoever shall seek to gain his soul shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose it, will preserve it.
nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not becoming, but rather thanks-giving.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your forbearance be known to all men: the Lord is near! Be anxious for nothing; but, in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God:read more.
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being established in the faith as ye were taught, abounding with thanksgiving.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, unto which also ye were called in one body; and become thankful.
Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear;
