And one poor widow, coming, cast in two mites, which is a farthing. And, calling to Him His disciples, He said to them, "Verily I say to you, this poor widow cast in more than all who are casting into the treasury;read more.
for they all did cast in out of their abundance; but she out of her want cast in all that she had??er whole living."
And, looking up, He saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow cast in more than they all;read more.
for all these, out of their superabundance, cast into the gifts; but she, out of her poverty, cast in all the living that she had."
because of the hope laid up for you in Heaven, of which ye heard before in the word of the truth of the Gospel,
henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will recompense to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.
Blessed be the God and Father of out Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to His abundant mercy, begat us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and unfading; kept in Heaven for you, who are being guarded by God's power, through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time;
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through, and steal;
And He said to them, "Take heed, and guard yourselves from all covetousness; because one's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses." And He spake a parable to them, saying, "A certain rich man's field yielded bountifully; and he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, because I have not where to store my fruits?'read more.
And he said, 'This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there will I store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Senseless one! this night they require your soul of you; and the things you prepared, whose shall they be?' So is he who is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
And the other came, saying, 'Lord, behold, your pound which I had lying away in a napkin; for I feared you, because you are a harsh man; you take up what you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.' He says to him, 'Out of your own mouth will I judge you, O evil servant! You knew that I am a harsh man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping where I did not sow;read more.
and wherefore did you not put my money in bank; and I, at my coming, would have exacted it with interest.'
but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where theives do not break through, nor steal;
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me."
Sell what ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses that grow not old, a treasure unfailing in Heaven, where no thief approaches, nor moth corrupts; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, free to impart, liberal; treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold on that which is really life.
but, after your hardness and impenitent heart, you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
but the present heavens and the earth, by the same word, have been stored up for fire, being kept unto the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
These are fountains without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved.
