Behold, these are the ungodly, who are at ease in the world; they increase in riches.
For I feared you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.
But you dishonored the poor one. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats? Do they not blaspheme that worthy Name by which you are called?
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivers from death.

The quail sits on eggs and does not hatch them; in the same way he who gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the middle of his days, and in his end he shall be a fool.
Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet and seize fields; and houses, and take them away. And they oppress a man and his household, even a man and his inheritance. Are the treasures of wickedness still in the house of the wicked, and the short measure that is hateful? Shall I count those with the wicked scales pure, and those with the bag of deceitful weights? For its rich men are full of violence, and its people have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
Shall not all these lift up a parable against him, and a mocking riddle to him, and say, Woe to him who increases what is not his! Until when, then, shall he load the pledges on himself? Shall not those who strike you rise up suddenly, and those who shake you awake, and you become a prize to them? Because you have stripped many nations, all the rest of the people shall strip you; because of men's blood, and the violence of the land, of the city, and of all who dwell in it.read more.
Woe to him who robs evil booty for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the hand of evil! You have planned shame to your house, to make an end of many people, and are sinning in your soul. For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
He who withholds grain, the people shall curse him; but blessing is on the head of him who sells.
Though he heaps up silver like the dust, and prepares clothing like the clay, he may prepare, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
Come now, rich ones, weep and howl for your hardships coming on. Your riches have rotted, and your clothes have become moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their poison will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days.
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the perversity of my ambushers will surround me? Those who trust in their wealth, and their many riches, boast themselves.
Behold, the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, he was strong in his wickedness.
He who trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall blossom like a branch.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but in the gain of the wicked is trouble.
The labor of the righteous tends to life; the fruit of the wicked tends to sin.

Better is a little with the fear of Jehovah than great treasure and tumult with it. Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred with it.
